avenues of communication
ELIAS: “I say to you, you are directing many, many, many functions and avenues of communication continuously within every moment, and you shall not confuse yourself in your allowance of yourself to be paying attention to all of these avenues of communication and stimulus that you create within your reality. “You may create several behaviors within one moment, and this is not confusing to you. But within your assessment, if you are directing your attention in more than one area in one time framework, you shall be scattered and you shall be confused. This is a very limiting manner in which you direct your attention very singularly, and you create this out of familiarity. “But within this time framework, in this shift in consciousness, you have also chosen to be expanding that action, widening your awareness, and not holding to the singularity of all that is familiar within your reality. “… As you allow yourself a new recognition within yourself that there is no aspect of consciousness that shall be harmful to you, and that it is unnecessary to be expressing protection and guardedness, you shall also open your awareness to more of a fullness within your expressions and your interactions and your availability for information.” [session 702, October 07, 2000] ELIAS: “You offer MANY avenues of communication to yourself. “The one avenue that you pay most attention to – almost to the point of being exclusive – in identification of information or your definition of communication is thought. “Let me express to you, as I have expressed previously recently to other individuals, thought is a tool which has been created in relation to this physical dimension with the express function of defining and interpreting, in objective clarity, the communications that are offered to you through all the other avenues that you have designed for communication. Thought itself is not in actuality the source of communication. Therefore, in itself, its function is not actually communication. Thought is a tool that you incorporate in this physical dimension to be defining, identifying, and interpreting in objective clarity the expressions of communication that you offer to yourself through other avenues. “Now; those other avenues of communication are expressed through all of your senses – inner and outer senses – through emotion, through impressions, through impulses, and through what you define in your physical experience as a sensing of other expressions of consciousness, none of which are thought, but they are all defined and interpreted through this tool of thought. “Now; in all that you are creating in physical experiences, you are allowing yourself to be interruptive of your thought process. “… Now; in creating this interruption of thought, you are beginning to move yourself into a focus of attention within you and your experiences that allows you to notice and pay attention to all of these other avenues of communication. “You also offer yourself communication through the creation of physical manifestations or physical affectingnesses within the expression of your body consciousness.” [session 753, January 06, 2001] ELIAS: “I shall express once again in reiteration, thought is not a base element of your reality. Emotion and sexuality are the base elements, the foundational structures of your reality, and both of these foundational structures are also incorporated as avenues of communication that you offer to yourselves. “In this, thought is NOT a foundational or base element of your physical reality. It is a construct that you have incorporated as a tool to be interpreting, defining, and translating these avenues of communication in an objective manner that shall allow you an objective physical understanding of your reality and of what you are choosing, what you are incorporating in action, what you are creating. “I may express to you, you all experience this action of attempting to override your communications through this tool of thought. “You have all created experiences in which you offer yourself an experience, a communication through physical touch, through visual experience, through your audio functioning in your hearing, through your experiences with taste and smell, in which you may offer to yourself a communication, and immediately, in a particular moment, create a thought process that denies that experience and therefore does not accept the communication. “... Now; in this, what you may be incorporating if you wish, in addition to merely incorporating different definitions and accepting of those different definitions, is an allowance of yourself to be paying attention to your communications as communications, and in this, allow yourself to be paying attention more fully and closely to all of the communications that you offer to yourself in emotion.” [session 756, January 11, 2001] ELIAS: “Thought is a function. This is a creation that you have incorporated in this physical dimension to be defining and interpreting and translating other communications. Thought in itself is a function. It is NOT a communication. “This is one of the areas of definition, within your associations, within your reality, which has been turned, in a manner of speaking, and is misinterpreted. For you define thought as a communication, and you pay attention to thought, and turn its natural function in an attempt to be creating thought in an expression that is not of its design. This is your action of rationalization. “Your thought process is not designed to be overriding communications. It is not a communication in itself. It is a translator. It is a function that you have created to translate communication and define communication. The communications are expressed in other manners. All of your senses are communications. Your outer senses, your inner senses – these are communications. Your impulses, your impressions – these are communications. Your emotions are communications. Thought has been designed in this dimension to translate objectively and define those communications.” [session 762, January 20, 2001] ELIAS: “This is the first step, so to speak, identifying the signal; not the symptom, but the signal [i.e. emotion, impulse, impression, etc.]. “Once you have identified the signal, you may allow yourself to be exploring within self your association with that signal, and in your association with that signal, you allow yourself to move in the exploration of self, and what you are expressing to you in your recognition of you. “It is not necessarily an action that you may be incorporating in the moment. It may be an association that you are creating, and you offer to yourself, in harmony with each other, two signals – objective and subjective. “... You are creating the objective expression and the subjective expression simultaneously. They are moving in harmony. “... Each of you are choosing different expressions objectively that shall present you with the opportunity to be exploring this concept of communication, and exploring the lack of separation between the objective and the subjective expressions.” [session 764, January 24, 2001] ELIAS: “As you are aware, you are participating in this shift in consciousness, which incorporates an involvement of all essences associated with this physical dimension. “In the movement of this shift in consciousness, as you are widening your awareness and dropping the veil of separation, you also allow yourselves to be opening to more information. You draw information to yourselves, which is responded to by other essences, for you are dropping the veil and, in a manner of speaking, creating an invitation, that you may be offering yourselves many avenues of communication that shall be facilitating of this shift in consciousness and in your terms [be] helpful to you in your movement within this shift in consciousness. “I have stated previously, as you continue within this shift, you also present yourselves with more and more information, more and more avenues of communication through consciousness, not merely through THIS action of an energy exchange; but you do incorporate more of these expressions of energy exchanges to be offering yourselves information that you shall allow yourselves to objectively assimilate and therefore lessen the expression of trauma associated with this shift. “You are, in actuality, altering your reality. You are creating a new reality, and in that action there is much of your reality that is unfamiliar to you as you widen your awareness, and this, at times, may be incorporating much trauma. (Chuckles) Therefore, you provide yourselves, quite efficiently, with avenues of communication that shall be helpful to you in avoiding this trauma.” [session 767, January 26, 2001] ELIAS: “Intuition and imagination – imagination is a quite creative avenue of communication. Generally, imagination shall be expressed more colorfully. Intuition generally moves through a feeling, so to speak, therefore is more closely associated with emotional communications, although it is not an emotional communication. Imagination moves more closely associated with thought, but thought is not a communication.” [session 1116, June 16, 2002] ELIAS: “You may express to yourself in thought, ‘I want a new car, I want a new car, I want a new car, I want a new car.’ (Laughter) And you may think and think and think and think, and you may express outwardly in language, ‘I want a new car! I want a new car!’ But you may not materialize a new car, for what you DO reflects your direction. Thinking does not precede or generate reality. “Now; you may think ‘I want a new car.’ This may be a general translation. You may be offering yourself information in communication to yourself, but in not paying attention to that communication, your translation may be general and you may express to yourself, ‘I want a new car.’ In actuality, what you may be communicating to yourself is ‘I want to be expressing a more efficient manner of ease in my movement; I want to be transporting myself more efficiently,’ and in not paying attention to your communications, you may translate this into the thought process of ‘I want a new car.’ But you do not generate the new car for this is not the point, and this is not what you genuinely want. This is the significance of paying attention. “... For you create what you concentrate upon – not what you THINK, for your concentration is not based in thought. Your concentration is based in your beliefs. Yes, if you are concentrating your attention upon certain beliefs and it is intense, yes, you shall create it.” [session 1105, June 08, 2002] ELIAS: “This is another association which is being misinterpreted, misunderstood. I am not expressing to any of you that you do not think. ... for this is a function of your objective physical manifestation. It is no less of a function of your physical consciousness... than your heartbeat or than your breathing. It is quite valuable, and it is being generated continuously. It does not stop any more than your heartbeat stops or your breathing stops. What occurs is that you move your attention. At times you are paying attention intensely to your thoughts, and at times you are not. “... What I am expressing to you is not a devaluation of the mechanism of thought, but to recognize what it is, to understand that it is not a communication, that it does not precede your creation of reality. “You may think and think and think and think, and it shall not create your reality. You may wish all that you may, and you may think of what you are wishing and not create it, and the reason that you may not create it is that thought does not generate reality. It does not create reality; it interprets. It translates communications, and you offer yourselves many avenues of communication. It is the function of thought to translate. “But if you are not offering this mechanism of thought adequate information in association with your communications, it is not translating accurately. It translates generally, and this is the significance of paying attention to what influences your choices and paying attention to your choices. “What you choose may be associated with your direction. Your choices are what you do, not necessarily what you think. You may think to yourself in one moment, ‘I am going to move across this room and consume appetizers.’ And what you may actually do is turn your attention to the individual that is sitting beside you and engage in conversation. You are not DOING what you thought, but [you] are doing what you desire, in association with your direction. “This is the significance in paying attention to what you are doing and what influences what you do. For your doing is your choosing, and what influences your choosing is quite significant, for your beliefs influence your choosing continuously.” [session 1252, January 18, 2003] ELIAS: “I may express to you, as I have expressed to these other individuals and many, many other individuals, do not confuse yourself. Thought does not create reality. It is not its function. Its function is to translate, to interpret what your communications are. Therefore, it is only as efficient as information that you offer to it. If you are not allowing your attention a flexibility to be listening to all of your communications and to be moving in awareness of what you are actually doing, which is what you are choosing, you do not offer accurate information to the thought mechanism, and therefore it may not offer you accurate translations of what you are communicating or what you are doing. This is the reason that many individuals become quite confused, as thought does not match what they are doing or what their communications are. “But if you are generating a balance, recognizing that if you move your attention to all three factors or elements of yourself – thought, communication, and choice/doing, for doing and choice are synonymous – if you are allowing yourself a flexibility in attention to these three aspects of yourself, you shall notice when one is not in harmony with the other two, and in that you offer yourself information. That is the manner in which you begin to balance and you begin to recognize the ‘why’ of your creations. “I encourage individuals to concentrate upon the ‘what’ of their creations, for you concentrate excessively upon the why and you offer yourself no answer, for the question is too familiar. But in paying attention and creating the balance of these three factors of yourself, you automatically offer yourself the why, without asking the question.” [session 1468, November 08, 2003]
FRANK: “… my current situation in terms of my business, you know, my employment situation, has been flowing much more easily, and I was going to ask you, how did I go from where I was to where I am? ELIAS: You are correct! (Chuckling) Let me express to you, my friend, you shall always respond, or in your terms, answer you. It is merely a question of whether you are paying attention to the response that you are offering to yourself. But you, within self, as you create an objective communication with the subjective awareness, shall always provide yourself with a response. There is a continuous interaction and communication that is occurring between these two aspects of awareness. FRANK: Okay, but the problem is, I don’t recognize the response? ELIAS: It is not necessarily that you are not recognizing it, for in some aspects, you ARE recognizing of it. But you are not paying attention and you are not noticing what you are creating, for you are paying attention to your thoughts as the all-powerful expression of communication within you. In this, you look to your thoughts as the method or the means of your provision of communication to yourself, but your thoughts merely incorporate one aspect of interaction that you create within yourself. And in actuality, your thoughts, although this is an expression of energy which holds strength, are not in actuality the majority of energy expression which communicates to your objective awareness. But once again, this is one of the aspects of your reality that you have created which dominates your attention. This is another exhibition of singularity, which is extremely familiar to you all within this physical dimension. This is what you are familiar with in your creating – the creation of singularity. You incorporate many physical outer senses. You singularly turn your attention to one or another to be dominant over all of your other physical senses. You hold many inner senses, and you turn your attention to one and engage one in dominance to the others.... FRANK: Can you give me an example of a different inner sense? (Pause) ELIAS: A different inner sense from the identification of which as a beginning point? FRANK: Well ... oh boy! Now you’ve got me confused! Well, you’re saying that ... okay, in this issue of singularity, that we tend to focus on the outer senses over the inner senses. ELIAS: No, no, no, no, no! I am not expressing that you focus upon the outer senses more than the inner senses. I am merely expressing to you that in any expression, you focus upon one of the variety, and create a dominance in that expression. If you are viewing your outer senses, I shall express to you, regardless of how you view yourself to be identifying that you are more responsive to your physical sense of hearing than you are to any other sense, in actuality, by overwhelming majority, most individuals within this physical dimension are focusing their attention upon the stimulus of their physical outer sense of vision in dominance to all of the other outer senses. Now; I may also express to you, as you move your attention to the inner senses, most individuals within your physical dimension shall focus their attention upon the inner sense of empathic in dominance to the other inner senses. FRANK: Okay, and I do the same thing? ELIAS: Yes. In this, you also turn your attention to thoughts as your means of communication with self, and the thoughts dominate in your incorporation of communication avenues. FRANK: What you’re saying is, that’s what I’m expecting. That’s how I’m expecting to get a response from my other portions, my subjective side of my being, through thought. ELIAS: You are holding an expectation that you shall incorporate communication through thought, yes; and in this, not paying attention to the other avenues of communication and how they are expressed. FRANK: Okay. Well, let’s try to get to an example here. Let’s say that my back is sore, which it has been lately, and so I give myself a suggestion or communicate to the subjective part of myself that I want to alleviate this physical symptom or know the reason for it or both of those things. What ways other than through thought might I get an answer? Can you explain that to me? ELIAS: Now ... yes. In this, you have offered an example that is viable in this discussion, for as you incorporate this particular type of action, what are you expressing? You are automatically turning your attention to the communication of thought. In this action that you have offered in example, you are first of all automatically moving into an expression of a lack of acceptance. You are expressing to yourself – through thought – an identification of duplicity, in labeling the affectingness that you are experiencing physically as bad or uncomfortable, and wishing to be, in your terms, uncreating of that action, affecting of it to be eliminating it, or altering the expression of it. It matters not how you term this. Your want is to be eliminating of what you have created, for you have automatically created an association in negativity, and you have created these communications to yourself through thought. And I may express to you that many, many, many, many times, individuals are also automatically limiting their expression of affectingness of this situation, for first of all, you are allowing yourself an expression of singularity in merely accessing one avenue of communication which is quite limited, and that be the avenue of thought, and you are reinforcing the expression of duplicity through a lack of acceptance of what you are creating. Now; in the expression of acceptance, the communication through thought many times becomes unnecessary. You may not even engage the action of thought as communication to yourself, if you are allowing yourself an acceptance of what you are creating. FRANK: Well, I think I understand what you’re saying. However, I would just respond that when my back hurts, it’s hard to say, ‘I accept this.’ Maybe I don’t understand acceptance, but.... ELIAS: For you automatically deem this to be not good. FRANK: (Laughing) That’s correct! ELIAS: And I may express to you, as you continue to believe and express the reinforcement of energy in duplicity that this is a negative, you also continue to experience that action, for you continue to create it. You create.... FRANK: Well, but ... excuse me. But it seems that for me to objectively express anything else ... I mean, that’s the way I feel. I feel like it’s negative. So what are you saying? That I just say to myself, this is fine, this is okay, and it’s just great the way it is, when I can’t bend over to ... when it’s hard to bend over to pick something up off the floor? ELIAS: I shall express to you quite literally that in the genuine expression of acceptance and the lack of association with limitation and what you view as this negativity, it shall not be affecting of you. What you are creating in these actions is a physical obstacle. You are creating a physical limitation, and you are reinforcing this physical limitation through thought – and at times with the incorporation of emotion also – by your assessment that you are a victim, that you hold no control, that you are being dictated to by some other element, and therefore you hold no power, and you express this in your creation as a mirror of the influence of your belief. This be the reason that I speak to you all so very much in association with your beliefs and your perception, for your beliefs influence your perception, and your perception creates your reality. Therefore, you shall create what you concentrate upon, and I am not expressing concentration through thought. I am expressing what you believe. If you believe that you are creating painfulness within you and that this is bad, so it shall be. It IS in actuality, quite genuinely, quite simple. But you complicate this concept, for you direct your attention very singularly, and you view that the method for your communication to yourself is to be concentrating your attention through your thoughts, and in this singularity, you are not paying attention to all of the other functions that you are creating, all of the other avenues of communication that you are creating. FRANK: Are you talking about communication from the objective self to the subjective self, or the other way around? ELIAS: Both! FRANK: Both, okay. Okay, just again as an example, are you saying that one of the ways my subjective self communicates with me, like if I want ... maybe I create the situations, but then I don’t recognize them as containing a message for me? ELIAS: (Intently) No. Your objective and your subjective are moving in harmony. Now; let me offer you a very physical example. Let us hypothetically express that you choose to be walking across your room, and in this action, you create what you term to be an objective to move across your room and to be moving through a doorway. In this action, your attention moves temporarily to some activity which may be occurring within the room. You continue to be physically walking towards the doorway, but your attention focuses upon the activity occurring within the room. As you continue forward within your physical movement, you walk into [a] collision with the doorway. Now; has your subjective awareness directed your feet to be moving without your permission? FRANK: You’re asking? Yes. ELIAS: Ah! Therefore, you have held no awareness that you have chosen to be walking across the room. FRANK: Well, when I started, I did! ELIAS: Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha! FRANK: (Laughing) But halfway across, I started thinking about whatever, something else. ELIAS: Ah, and therefore, some other elusive aspect of consciousness is directing you, and now you have become a victim. FRANK: Okay, I see what you’re saying. ELIAS: (Chuckling) For YOU are not choosing to continue to move your feet and walk across your room, and YOU are not participating – in the objective expression of you – in this action. Some OTHER aspect of you that is unknown to you is creating action FOR you, and therefore, you are subject to accident and mishap, and in this, you become victim. I am expressing to you that your objective awareness is creating the choice to be moving across the room. There is no exchange, that the objective initially was in completeness of control, but has relayed the control to the subjective to be continuing in the action. Your objective awareness IS aware that you are continuing to be walking across the room. Your attention is turned and is focused upon another action, which creates a situation of automatic response within your physical movement of your body consciousness, but no expression of [an] accident is occurring. You may move yourself into [a] collision with the doorway to be snapping your attention back into the direction which you were creating an intention of previously. In this, there is no ‘game’ that is being played, with you as the pawn or the object of. You view your objective and your subjective awarenesses to be two other aspects of you which vie for position of who shall be controlling the actions of you the individual as the physical manifestation – (chuckling) your character[s] of the angel and the demon upon your shoulders which are expressing directions to you in opposition of each other – no! I am expressing to you, they are both moving in harmony with each other simultaneously. What you are creating objectively, you are also creating subjectively, and vice versa. You are merely creating those actions within different types of imagery.” [session 693, September 18, 2000] ELIAS: “Clarity, within your physical expression, is achieved in allowing yourself the awareness and the attention within the moment, the awareness of all that you are creating within the moment, which is expressed through not merely your actions, not merely your thoughts or your emotion, but is expressed in the whole of your being in each moment, and the allowance of yourself to be aware objectively of all of your movement. There is much within each moment of your reality that you do not pay attention to. You focus your attention singularly, for this is familiar. This is not bad. It is familiar, and in this singularity of your attention, you choose certain expressions of communication that shall be the dominating forces within your reality. You choose one inner sense that you shall pay more attention to than the other inner senses. You choose one outer sense that shall be dominant in your allowance of input and stimulation with. You choose an alternation of thought or emotion in different moments, and that one or the other in a particular moment shall be dominant. In this, you hold a belief that you merely have a capability to be filtering and processing, so to speak, information in the expression of singular avenues within one time framework. You must be holding your attention within one expression, one area of communication, one behavior, for if you are not, you shall confuse yourself. I say to you, you are directing many, many, many functions and avenues of communication continuously within every moment, and you shall not confuse yourself in your allowance of yourself to be paying attention to all of these avenues of communication and stimulus that you create within your reality. You may create several behaviors within one moment, and this is not confusing to you. But within your assessment, if you are directing your attention in more than one area in one time framework, you shall be scattered and you shall be confused. This is a very limiting manner in which you direct your attention very singularly, and you create this out of familiarity. But within this time framework, in this shift in consciousness, you have also chosen to be expanding that action, widening your awareness, and not holding to the singularity of all that is familiar within your reality. … As you allow yourself a new recognition within yourself that there is no aspect of consciousness that shall be harmful to you, and that it is unnecessary to be expressing protection and guardedness, you shall also open your awareness to more of a fullness within your expressions and your interactions and your availability for information. ROBIN: So you’re saying I’m always safe. ELIAS: Yes. There is no aspect outside of you that creates any expression – and I am speaking to you quite literally – ANY expression – that is perpetrated upon you without your participation and permission and choice. If you are not choosing to be experiencing a particular action that you assess as hurtful, you shall not be experiencing that action, and in this, no other expression of consciousness creates that. YOU create that action within you.” [session 702, October 07, 2000] ELIAS: “… You are ALWAYS offering yourself information. Now; let me also express to you, in relation to this action of offering yourself information, at times you cease to pay attention to certain avenues of communication that you generally offer to yourself. You have become quite accustomed to the methodology, so to speak, of how you create your communication to yourself physically, and in this, in a manner of speaking, you become bored with the familiarity of your communication to yourself. You engage your senses – your outer senses and your inner senses – as avenues of communication to yourself. You engage your impressions or your intuition, which you translate into thoughts, and this is another avenue of communication. You engage emotion as an avenue of communication, but generally speaking, you have geared your emotional expressions to be triggered by outside information. Therefore, you have incorporated the use of your emotions as a responsive type of communication to yourself. In this, at times you may choose to be incorporating familiar avenues of communication with yourself, but in a different construct, one that gains your attention and holds your attention. Generally speaking, you do not incorporate this type of action in the expression of joyfulness or pleasure. Generally speaking, if you are attempting to gain your attention, you shall incorporate an action or an avenue of communication with yourself that shall be displeasurable to you and that you shall dislike. … And this shall quite efficiently gain your attention and hold your attention. … Now; in creating a lack of motivation and an expression of frustration and anxiety, you gain your attention through an emotional expression which you dislike. But the emotional communication is being offered NOT in responsiveness or reaction to an outside event. But rather, you are creating this expression in [an] emotional quality in [a] similar manner to how you create your thoughts. But in time frameworks such as you are expressing presently, and within the design of your direction that you have chosen presently, you shall not pay attention to the thoughts. It is quite easy to override the thoughts. It is also quite easy to be discounting of the thoughts, for you may easily move yourself into an identification of discounting yourself, and therefore you shall cease the thoughts altogether. Therefore, this is inefficient in gaining your attention. It is more difficult to be overriding the expressions of emotions. You are less versed, so to speak, objectively in how to be manipulating emotions, and how to be overriding those expressions of emotions or altering them. Therefore, in your assessment, you exert less control over these expressions of emotions than you may over the communication of thought.” [session 707, October 17, 2000] ELIAS: “… you DO believe that there are limitations upon your abilities. You occupy physical focus within a physical dimension, and in this, you believe that you also are incurred with physical limitations. You WISH to believe that there are no limitations. I may express to you, there ARE no limitations, but you do not believe this, (grinning) and this creates limitations. Now; in this, I may speak to you for much time framework, and you shall continue to believe that you hold physical limitations, to the point that you express validation to yourself that you may accomplish, that you are not overestimating your abilities. For although you may express intellectually that you may not overestimate your abilities, I may express to you presently, you do believe that this is arrogant, and therefore it IS possible to be overestimating your abilities, and the expression of that overestimation is bad ... and you are quite not alone in this expression! (Grinning) For I may express to you that every individual present this evening also holds this belief, that there is a limitation to what you may create, and that you must be holding yourself in check, that you do not become arrogant, or that you do not allow that expression of self that you identify as ego to run away with you. These are the beliefs that create obstacles and obstructions in your movement, and in your allowance of yourself to BE expressing your abilities. In actuality, you DO hold the ability to be creating whatever you may imagine. You are not occupying a lower plane. You are not within physical focus as a punishment or as a learning experience, that you may move to a more enlightened plane. You are already enlightened. You already hold all of the information that is possible to be held, for you are already all of consciousness. Therefore, what shall you not accomplish, except for what you express to yourself that you cannot? In this, ALL of you express limitations. Now; I may express to you that you may begin to be moving these obstacles and obstructions from before you, in a manner of speaking, by genuinely familiarizing you with you, becoming aware of your beliefs in [a] genuine expression; not merely in theory or in concept, not merely within thought, but become familiar with yourself in all of the expressions of you. You lean in the direction of identifying yourself and thinking that you are becoming familiar with you through thinking. Thought is merely one avenue of communication that you possess. There are many, many, many avenues of communication that you express and engage in this physical focus. You have created many types of expressions that offer you communication continuously, but you do not pay attention, for you are busying yourself paying attention to your thinking, and your thinking moves into analyzation and into dissection and into philosophizing, and you distract yourself, and you do not pay attention to the other expressions that are offering you information. The two aspects of communication that you pay attention to the most within physical focus are your emotions and your thoughts. These are tremendous avenues of communication, but they are not the only avenues of communication. In this, your beliefs, figuratively speaking, if being viewed in similar manner to entities in themselves – the aspects of your beliefs as we express them in analogies of birds within bird cages (1) – they are quite cunning, and they know your thoughts and your emotions also. YOU know your thoughts and your emotions, and you, through your beliefs, know quite well how to be manipulating your thoughts and emotions to be confirming and reinforcing what you believe. Therefore, it is a circle. The manner in which you step out of the circle of this perpetuation is to become familiar with you, to recognize the beliefs that you hold; not merely those that appear surfacely, but as I have expressed this day also earlier, what motivates the expressions of these beliefs, for what is motivating of the surface expression of beliefs are underlying beliefs. Beliefs influence beliefs, and beliefs influence perception, and perception creates your reality, period. Therefore, as you become aware of your motivation of your beliefs and what is underlying the surface expressions ... and I am not speaking of your science of psychology and your ‘subconscious’ expression! I am speaking of your objective awareness, but that aspect of your objective awareness that you are not paying attention to. It is quite obvious. It is quite expressed within all of your focuses, but many actions, many elements are expressed within your focus that you pay little or no attention to objectively. They are automatic actions. They are automatic responses. In this, you express that you face yourself with a crossroad, that you know not which direction to proceed within. You create difficulty and challenge in viewing and creating choices if you are not allowing yourself the objective recognition of what your choices are, and you allow yourself to view your choices by becoming familiar with you, not with all that is outside of you. This is quite changeable imagery. It may change moment by moment, and it matters not. For you may create any expression of imagery outside of yourself, and you may change it momentarily, and it shall all be beneficial. It shall all be purposeful. It matters not what you are creating outwardly. This is imagery that you are creating. In a manner of speaking, it is the illusion. It is the game. What holds significance is you and the manipulation of your perception, and the recognition that your perception IS creating your reality, and the KNOWING that you hold choice. This is a powerful instrument, and also may be one of the most limiting, in the lack of recognition that you hold choice. (Pause) Therefore, my friend, go forth! Seek your choice! Familiarize yourself with you. Allow yourself to identify what is the object of your desire, not merely your want.” [session 711, October 21, 2000] ELIAS: “Be remembering, the imagery that you present to yourself in dreams is a translation into objective associations. In this, the translation is of subjective actions. The subjective actions parallel simultaneously and are in harmony with the objective movement. Even within the time frameworks that an individual may be creating the translation of imagery in association with another focus, they are purposefully creating that translation, as it parallels what they are also creating in that now within their objective movement. Your subjective and objective do not ‘follow’ each other. They move simultaneously and they move in harmony to each other. Therefore, as you create movement subjectively and you translate that movement objectively through dream imagery, you are communicating to yourself through another avenue the same information that you are communicating to yourself objectively. Now; what is quite interesting in these situations is that individuals engage interaction with myself, and quite commonly and quite frequently present dream imagery for interpretation, for most of you view your dream imagery as obscure and abstract. Therefore, you interpret that you present yourself with a challenge in attempting to interpret the imagery that you have presented to yourself. In this, let me express to you, many, many, many times, what you are creating objectively may be more obscure and abstractly created than the simplicity and obviousness of your dream imagery! … For within your waking state, you have become extremely creative in your ability to be obscuring and complicating your movement to sufficiently confuse yourself! And I shall express to you, in that movement, for the most part, many, many, many of you – most of you, in actuality, even within this present time framework – have not yet moved yourselves into a continuous, consistent holding of your attention within the now, or an automatic expression of noticing, or a genuine expression of familiarity with yourselves. This be the reason that you acknowledge yourselves in the action of noticing, for it is not automatic yet, and it continues to be an element that you notice – that you ARE noticing. You are familiar with yourselves, in physical terms, in [a] small percentage of the objective capability of being familiar with yourselves. In this, as you create your objective imagery in waking state – which you believe to be the ‘real’ expression, your ‘real life,’ so to speak, (chuckling) – many, many, many times you are not paying attention to what you are creating, and you are creating your imagery in obscurity, whereas you ARE paying attention to the imagery that you present to yourselves in dreams. MARY: The feeling is what is holding most of the information in the dream state, wouldn’t you say? ELIAS: I shall express to you that the underlying feeling and emotion that you present to yourself within dream imagery is a very large communication to you, as to the actual movement and identification of this dream imagery and its translation in communication with you. I have stated recently that there are many, many avenues of communication that you offer to yourselves continuously within every moment of your participation within this physical reality, but you choose to hold your attention in very few avenues of communication. In this, for the most part, you allow yourselves to pay attention to your thoughts and to your emotions, but these are merely two avenues of communication. You also confuse yourselves tremendously, for you are incorporating the action of thought in a manner in which you have not designed it to be implemented. You incorporate thought at times to be analyzing emotion, at other times to be overriding emotion, at times to be eliminating emotion, and many times to be discounting of your movements. Let me express to you, thought is one avenue of communication that you have created in this physical dimension. Now; this is not to say that other physical dimensions do not incorporate some creations of thought, for they do. But you have created a very specific design of thought, within this physical dimension, as a tool. It is a facilitating tool to be identifying. It offers you a means in which you may objectively identify other avenues of communication. It allows you one avenue of defining other avenues of communication. It is NOT designed to override other avenues of communication, which you incorporate many times. MARY: That rings true to me. Does that mean that within my part, I kinda move in harmony, as far as not over-analyzing things? Because lots of times, this feels more real, just to let the analyzing of the thought part go, and just feel ... there’s a comfort in just knowing something, and it’s not ... it doesn’t even have to be clear. Even a vague knowing feels more comfortable to me. ELIAS: Within your individual expression, this action is moving more in a natural flow of expression of energy for you. Now; there are some individuals that incorporate a tremendous quantity of action in thought ... and I am not expressing to you or to any individual that the incorporation of thought, or the lack of incorporation of thought, may be better or worse. … I am expressing that thought has been designed by you, through choice in this physical dimension, as a function of communication, but merely ONE function of communication, and this communication is designed in actuality to offer you information in clarity, in definition and identification, not as a replacement for other avenues of communication.” [session 720, November 07, 2000] DEANE: “Very early in the morning a few days ago, I was sleeping and saw this gentleman standing in nothingness. He said, ‘Are you awake?’ He startled me and I awoke, never getting back to sleep. I thought this guy looked suspiciously like the probable self I encountered that you spoke of in session 383. (2) Would you tell me what this was all about? ELIAS: What is your impression, other than that this is a probable self? DEANE: Well, I’m rather empty there. I was looking for information. I sensed that there might be some there, but there wasn’t anything there. I thought it was a little strange. I’m not sure if he was that particular probable self, or if he was just someone who looked like him. ELIAS: It is the probable self, first of all. Now; the key is that you hold an impression that there is information which is being offered, but you view nothing. Now, my friend, you are quite accomplished at creating analytical games! DEANE: (Laughing) I’ve done that before! ELIAS: Ah, I am aware! And you amuse yourself quite often in your analyzation of concepts, of actions, of your reality. In this, you are continuously seeking out what you view to be the underlying motivations and the insidious, correct? DEANE: Ah, yes. That’s an excellent word, and that very much describes that. Insidious, yes. ELIAS: Yes. Now; (laughing) incorporate your tremendous ability in these directions to be exploring YOU, for you do incorporate quite an accomplished exhibition of these qualities of analyzation and investigation of the insidiousness of all that is within your reality. But you are always searching for the suspicious! (Chuckling) … Now; in continuing in this subject matter in relation to your experience with this probable self, what you are offering to yourself in this experience is an opportunity to engage these actions – these qualities that you exhibit so very easily and that you have developed throughout your focus – and apply them in a different manner. Apply them to not seeking out ‘things,’ but the seeking out of you and the other avenues of communication that you offer to yourself, not merely thought or emotion. You direct your attention quite strongly – and to the exclusion of many other expressions – through the avenue of thought. You couple this at times with your emotional expressions, which you thusly create an interpretation or translation to yourself in relation to your emotional expression, or that which you yourself identify as your feelings. You identify this or define this coupling of the thought and emotion expression as a communication of your intuition at times, and I am expressing to you that you are beginning to offer yourself experiences and information to direct your attention in other areas. You communicate with yourself in many more directions and through many more avenues than merely thought and emotion, and in this, [in] allowing yourself to turn your attention and explore and examine and investigate and evaluate these other avenues of communication, you also may re-evaluate the communication of thought, for thought many times is channeled in an expression of energy NOT in alignment with its design of purpose within this physical dimension. Therefore, the energy that you focus in the action and creation of thought may be distracting. It also may be distorting. It also may be confusing, in your analyzation and your evaluations of different expressions, experiences, and concepts. (Intently) Thought is a construct of physical dimension to be a clarifying communication and defining communication of the base elements of your reality. One moment, my friend. Offer to yourself and to me now, within your thoughts, and allow yourself to recognize what I have defined to you are the base elements of your physical dimension in this reality. They are what? DEANE: The base elements of our physical reality are emotions and the things we create, the physicality, right? ELIAS: The base elements of your reality in this physical dimension – the base constructs of your reality – are sexuality and emotion. DEANE: I gotcha. ELIAS: You have not nor shall you futurely hear from myself that the base element or one of the base elements of your reality in this physical dimension is thought. It is not. This is a construct that you have created for clarification and definition OF the base constructs or elements of your reality. It is a tool that you incorporate in communication. It is a tool that you incorporate to define, to clarify, and to translate in some aspects the expressions of sexuality and emotion, which ARE the base elements of your reality. Now; your attention has moved to the expression of thought so fully that you have created an expression of thought to the exclusion of your awareness objectively of other avenues of communication. … DEANE: I wondered what had happened, because it seemed like that previous dimension of – I’m just gonna call it stuff – since we first met, the new experiences and the expanded awareness are missing now. I know they’re really not missing, but I understand what you’re saying. ELIAS: For this is the direction of your attention. You move your attention to the familiar, and the familiar is to be directed in the energy of thought and the expression of thought. This is familiar and comfortable, and in this, you allow yourself to move into those designs of thought which are distracting and which move you into confusion, for you are not incorporating the tool in the manner in which it is and has been designed.” [session 731, November 28, 2000] ELIAS: “Another avenue of communication which is expressed within all of you is your emotional expressions. Your emotions are not reactionary. They are not reactions to events or to situations. They are an avenue of communication, and in this, they communicate the movement of your subjective awareness in harmony and in conjunction with your objective awareness. EDWARD: So they’re like an alarm system for your belief systems. They are alarms for your beliefs. ELIAS: They are not necessarily an alarm system, for this is an expression [of] being reactionary, and they are not reactionary. They are not reactions. They are an avenue of communication to your perception. You are creating objectively in one manner, and creating a type of imagery physically, objectively, and the communication of the subjective is offered through the expression of your emotional qualities. EDWARD: Well, the range then, in different people – I mean, from people I know that basically have almost no emotions to people who have almost raw emotions – is that just their belief system? ELIAS: Not necessarily. Let me express to you once again, emotions are an avenue of communication. What do you create within your thoughts or within your language, objectively, outwardly, in communication? If you are not listening, you shall repeat the communication. If you hold a perception that another individual that you are conversing with is not paying attention or listening, you may continue to express repeatedly to them if you hold a perception that there is an importance in that communication. If you are not listening to yourself within your own thoughts or if you are doubting your ability in memory in conjunction with your thoughts, you repeat, and this reinforces you in creating a movement with your perception to be paying attention. Your emotions are another avenue of communication. They are not reactionary. Therefore, if you are not paying attention or if you are not allowing the flow, you are denying your reception of that communication, [and] the communication continues. Let me express to you, this also is quite a creation of the translation which is expressed through your perception and influenced by your beliefs. If you are creating an association of any movement, any choice within your manifestation that may be identified or labeled in your reality as good and as pleasant, any choice in which you communicate to yourself, as an example, happiness, you receive that communication immediately. It is unnecessary to continue to be communicating that to yourself. Therefore, you are not continuously creating an emotion of happiness, so to speak, or elation, for you have received the message. You have accepted the communication. It is acknowledged. Therefore, why shall you continue to repeat the communication? It has been received. As you create a choice within your reality that you perceive as painful or negative, your automatic response is to be not accepting, and therefore denying. You create an emotion, which is the communication, in harmony, expressing to you the subjective movement – which is the same communication you are offering to yourself objectively, in that awareness – and you wish not to be paying attention to what you are creating objectively, and you are denying of the acceptance or reception of the communication which is being offered subjectively, which manifests in the emotional expression. Therefore, it continues, and at times becomes louder. It becomes more intense and more intense, for you are not accepting. You are expressing, ‘No, no, no!’ and as you express, ‘No, I deny this communication,’ your subjective awareness – which is not hidden from you or subconscious! – continues to offer the message. EDWARD: What do you do with the message? ELIAS: Acknowledge and accept. It is not a question of action, necessarily. EDWARD: Oh! Gotcha. Okay. ‘Cause I was thinking that you were trying to tell me that I’m supposed to do something with it. ELIAS: No! EDWARD: Only most of the time, doing something with that negative emotion becomes an outward manifestation of anger. ELIAS: Or, it is not accomplishing ... EDWARD: Anything. ELIAS: ... of what you wish to be accomplishing. EDWARD: Right. So you’re saying, acknowledge it. I’m feeling this way. My body is telling me this. Accept what I’m feeling.... ELIAS: (Firmly) It is a communication. It is not a reaction. It is not good or bad. It is a communication! If you are so choosing, you may allow yourself to identify what it is communicating to you, as influenced through your belief systems, and how that is being translated and interpreted by your perception, and therefore creating a reality in relation to it. But in this, it is merely a movement of acceptance and reception of the communication.” [session 737, December 09, 2000] GAIL: “… when Danny and I are together and I look into his eyes, it’s like, it’s kind of strange. Energy exchanges between us that makes this really strong connection within energy, and when we look away from each other, it feels like fabric just ripping apart, and it hurts until we look back into each other’s eyes. There’s just so much in them. It seems like the whole world is inside of them, sort of. I see joy and freedom, sometimes I see sadness – it’s like a multitude of imagery that I get, but mostly there’s like this energy connection that happens, especially between him and I, but it happens with other people as well. But it’s like when you look into their eyes, you see their world, sort of, and my own world within it. ELIAS: If you are allowing yourself; you are quite correct. I may express to you, there are many avenues of communication that you each offer to yourselves and in relation to each other. In this, for the most part, you pay attention generally to merely two, that of thought and that of language, and you view these to be exclusive in the expression of communication. I may express to you, there are many avenues that you provide yourselves with to be communicating with yourselves and with each other. You may be allowing yourself to incorporate more than one outer sense to be creating an actual interaction and communication, and it may be equally as clear and understood as other avenues of communication. You are extremely diverse beings, and hold tremendous abilities for expression in many, many different manners. Your vision is a powerful tool that you have created within your physical expression. It offers you communication and information continuously. But at times, you may incorporate an action – such as you have allowed yourself – in paying attention to other expressions of your vision that may be more fully expressed than merely viewing outside manifestations, so to speak, or as an aid to identification of different expressions within your world, or identification of movements. You may allow yourself to incorporate much more of what may be offered to you through this avenue of communication within your vision. In this, your vision, your eyes, may be allowed to interact with all of your energy expression, and may in actuality even be affecting of your physical expression – your physical body, your functioning of your physical body. The mere allowance of communication through vision may be affecting of your breath, it may be affecting of your muscles, it may be affecting of your heartbeat. It may be offering you an avenue of communication that needs no incorporation of thought. GAIL: That seems to be the big one for me. When we look into each other’s eyes, it’s like we’re talking without using words or thought. It’s just an understanding, like right away, without using all those other tools, so to speak. ELIAS: Correct. There are avenues of communication that may be enacted much more rapidly than thought or language. Thought and language are relatively slow.” [session 739, December 15, 2000] ELIAS: “… I have defined recently within this forum, the function of emotion is not reaction. The function of emotion within this physical dimension is an avenue of communication from the subjective to the objective awareness. There is a continuous input of communication from the subjective to the objective through the avenue of emotion. In this, an individual of thought-focus or political-focus or religious-focus holding the orientation of soft shall be expressing that emotional communication in different manner and many times more often than an individual that may be of those three types of focuses but holding the orientation of common or intermediate, for the subjective and objective are held in equal attention. Therefore, the attention is acknowledging that communication continuously, even though the individual may not be emotionally-focused. They may not be processing their communications through the identification of emotion first, but they are paying attention to that communication continuously. In a manner of speaking, I have offered an analogy previously with another individual, of viewing an individual holding the orientation of soft as being a very, very shallow pond, in which the ground of the pond or the bottom of the pond is quite visible to the surface of the pond. The bottom of the pond may be likened to the attention of the subjective, and the surface of the pond to the attention of the objective awareness, and within this particular pond, they are so closely associated that from the vantage point, figuratively speaking, of the objective, the subjective is always within view. The pebbles upon the ground of your pond are quite visible continuously, and this is expressed through the continuous communication of emotion. Now; this is significant that you allow yourself to be assimilating this information, for it shall offer you a clearer identification of yourself, and a recognition that these aspects of yourself are not separated. One is not creating any expression within your physical reality that the other is not simultaneously creating. (Pause) Within yourself, the exchange which is occurring in relation to perception may be expressed in both directions. I may express to you, within the expression of an individual that holds the orientation of intermediate, the perception moves in an association, in a manner of speaking, that the subjective shall create the initial direction, and the objective shall express the physical manifestation of that direction. Let me be clear – this is figuratively speaking, for one does not follow the other. But in the manner of attention, the attention is held more in strength with the subjective, and therefore, this is more of the directing force of the perception with an individual holding the orientation of intermediate. With an individual holding the orientation of common, the attention is held more fully or in strength in the objective. Therefore, this is more directing, in a manner of speaking; not that the subjective follows the objective, but figuratively speaking, we may say that the objective may create many expressions first, and the subjective shall be compliant with those creations. In the orientation of soft, you create both. At times the objective may assume the lead, so to speak, and at times the subjective may assume the lead. At times your attention is focused equally in both areas of awareness. At times you may move your attention to be more dominant in one or the other. For the most part, your attention is equal in both areas of awareness. You objectively have not allowed yourself to understand and recognize the translation. FRANK: Translation how? Translation subjectively? ELIAS: The translation that you create objectively and subjectively. Your subjective awareness is continuously in communication with you, but you move your attention into thought and you move your attention into language, and within thought and language, you view that this is the identification of communication. This is your interpretation, your translation of how you identify any avenue of communication within you. If you do not translate a communication into thought, you do not identify it as a communication. FRANK: Right. True. ELIAS: This is not to say that the communication is not occurring. It is. FRANK: All the time. ELIAS: Yes, and you ARE objectively aware of it! As you yourself have stated, you are aware that your physical body is offering you a continuous communication. FRANK: Right. ELIAS: But you are creating confusion and difficulty and challenges in that translation, for your thoughts are not understanding the communication, and you are not offering yourself a translation through thought. It is not necessary to be translating all of your communications into thought. (Intently) This is key within your orientation, that you allow yourself the recognition that these different aspects of yourself are not separated. They are all one you, and in this, the communication is occurring continuously, and as you continue to not accept the communication, you continue to offer the communication to yourself. Hear what I am expressing to you, Christian [Frank]. You are not receiving the communication. It is not being offered to you through thought. It is being offered to you through other avenues, and you are not receiving it, and therefore it continues to express itself. FRANK: When you say I’m not receiving it, do you mean ... what do you mean? ELIAS: Let me offer to you another example that has been offered within a recent discussion with myself and William [Gail]. William [Gail] has offered dream imagery which you shall be privy to futurely in transcription. FRANK: Okay. ELIAS: In this, William [Gail] has offered imagery to himself in the form of a telephone that is continuously ringing but that he does not answer, and therefore it continues to ring. This imagery that he has presented to himself is very similar to what I am expressing to you. (3) You are offering yourself communications, emotionally and physically, and you are not receiving the communication, and in like manner to the ringing telephone, as it is not received, it continues to ring. As you do not engage your telephone and receive the communication of the call, so to speak, the telephone continues to express the communication in ringing. Once you receive the communication, once you acknowledge the communication and you in your physical terms pick up your telephone receiver, the ringing discontinues, for it need not be attaining your attention to be delivering the message any longer. You have opened yourself to the reception of the message. The ringing is the signal. FRANK: So my symptoms [i.e. difficulty breathing] are the signal. ELIAS: The physical manifestations and the communication of the emotion are the signal. They are offering you a communication. As you refuse to accept the communication, the communication continues. FRANK: How can I not be ... how can I be refusing to accept it? I’m acknowledging it. I know it’s there. I know I’m creating it. ELIAS: You are acknowledging that the ringing is occurring. FRANK: Right, okay. (Elias chuckles) But how do I pick up the phone, then? ELIAS: Ah! This is the movement of paying attention to you and becoming familiar with you; listening to the different avenues of communication not as separate from each other, but as expressions that are created together in relation to each other, not as reactions, but as different avenues of communication that you are offering to yourself simultaneously. You ARE paying attention to the ringing in the physical manifestation, and you are acknowledging: ‘This telephone is ringing, ringing, ringing, ringing. I am noticing that it is ringing.’ But you are not receiving this communication. You also create another ringing, ringing within your emotional communication, but you view that to be reactionary, and therefore you are not listening to that in what it is expressing to you. You are paying attention to the signal with the physical manifestation, but you are not recognizing that the communication to be received is also being expressed within the emotional communication. Therefore, your attention continues in the noticing of the signal, but not in the recognition of the message. The message is expressed through the emotional communication, and that is a communication of acknowledgment and validation of the movement of your interaction and influence of your beliefs, which are speaking to your perception and creating an actual physical reality. The perception is created within your physical dimension objectively, but as the subjective is so very closely associated in your expression of orientation, it is offering a communication to you quite frequently as to what you are in the moment creating, in association with your beliefs, in influence to the objective perception. Your subjective IS communicating to you information of how your perception is translating those beliefs, but you are not paying attention to that communication, for you have defined it as reactionary and not as communication. Therefore, as you turn your attention and allow yourself the recognition that you are creating an actual communication, not reacting to what you are creating, you may be allowing yourself a new opening to your own awareness of self, a new awareness of how you are creating – and WHY you are creating – what you are creating. I shall express to you also, it may be beneficial to you – and I shall be advocating this suggestion – that you allow yourself to be discussing this particular information with Michael [Mary]. For I have stated recently, but shall state now, as it shall be incorporated into transcription, and [my] previous statement was not chosen to be entered into transcription: The engagement of this phenomenon with this individual manifest of the essence of Michael [Mary] is no accident. This phenomenon that is engaged with Michael [Mary] in this focus has been purposefully chosen, as I have stated previously. In this exchange, Michael [Mary] provides another aspect of the phenomenon itself, in allowing himself to be incorporated in many situations as an example. I have stated previously several times, Michael [Mary] allows himself a very swift movement in relation to this information and his ability to be incorporating it into his objective reality and into the movement of his physical focus. His participation in this phenomenon is not merely to be offering an avenue of communication from myself to all of you, but his participation in this phenomenon also is the allowance of himself within this physical focus to be viewed and incorporated as an example to other individuals, for he does hold a tremendous ability to assimilate this information and offer to you an avenue of translation that you may view and that you may interact with. I am non-physically focused as essence. I do not provide you with a physical example of this information. I provide you with information that you inquire of. But for the most part, without the physical incorporation of experience within your physical dimension, the information that I offer to you remains as concept until you allow yourselves examples through experience.” [session 743, December 17, 2000] FRANK: “… what are the other avenues of communication? ELIAS: I shall express to you, you have created an intricate design of physical reality. You within yourselves have created a physical body that incorporates outer senses and inner senses, which are ALL objective communications to yourselves. And as I have been offering [in] information recently, another very expressive avenue of communication that you pay LITTLE attention to and is one of your MOST expressive avenues of communication are your emotions. Your emotions, once again, as I have stated many times recently with individuals, are not reactions. They are not responses; they are not reactions. They are communications. But as you define them to be reactionary, you are not paying attention to what they are expressing to you. You view them merely to be a gauge as to your state of being, and they are not a gauge of your state of being. They are an actual communication, which is expressed objectively, from the subjective awareness to the objective awareness. FRANK: Okay. Well, explain this. How do I go about interpreting this communication? Let’s say I wake up one morning and I just feel terrific, or another morning I wake up and I emotionally feel sort of depressed. How do I interpret that communication? ELIAS: This is the function of your intellect. This is the function, in actuality, of your creation of thoughts. It provides you with the avenue of interpretation. Thought has not been designed as an actual avenue of communication in itself. (4) It is a function of interpretation and an offering of allowance for understanding within you as to the identification and interpretation of these other avenues of communication ... although many times it is unnecessary to be engaging this action of thought to be interpreting of the communications. But in relation to your emotional communications, as you create an emotion, as you recognize that this is a communication and not a reaction and also not a gauge as to your state of being, this in itself offers different information to your thought process, and your thoughts automatically engage a different type of movement in the recognition of that communication. As you define an emotion of anxiety, so to speak ... as you state, you may awake within your morning and experience this feeling or this emotion of anxiety or depression. In this, as you identify that as a gauge and as a reaction to your state of being, your thoughts move in automatic function and merely express to you an identification of the feeling, so to speak, and your thought identifies no further, for it is merely identifying a reaction to your state of being. Therefore, it engages no more information in interpretation. As you allow yourself to be recognizing that this is not a reaction, it is not a gauge, your thoughts automatically move in a different expression, and in this, the interpretation begins with a question as to what the communication is, and as the communication continues, the thought process continues its interpretation of that communication. You engage questioning and you engage answering within yourself in relation to the communication. The difficulty or the miscommunication which is expressed is in the identification of the definition of what is occurring, and as you view the emotion to not be a communication, you do not receive the communication or the message, so to speak. FRANK: So are you saying the emotion is sort of like a knock on the door, and instead of opening the door and getting the rest of it, you just say somebody knocked on the door and then ignore it? ELIAS: Correct. FRANK: Ah, okay. So in other words, if you recognize what this emotion is all about, then there’s more to come afterwards that will deliver whatever the message was. ELIAS: Correct. You shall offer yourself much more information. This is a valuable avenue and a quite efficient avenue of communication within yourself that you have all designed within this physical dimension. I shall state once again, I have offered to you all an identification of the base elements of your physical reality in this particular dimension, and they are sexuality and emotion, not thought. Thought is a tool that you have created for interpretation, identification, and definition, not as a base element and expression of your physical reality.” [session 746, December 22, 2000] SUE: “I want to talk to you about a problem I’ve been having. Specifically, on Friday I left my backpack on the train, and I lost my purse and my keys and my glasses and various other objects, and I was really upset about it; not just because it’s a hassle to replace everything and it’s a loss of money, but because this is like the fourth time this year that I’ve lost things. In most cases, it’s just leaving something. I left my purse in a shopping cart back in January, and that was returned to me. Then I lost my student I.D., and that was returned to me a couple of months ago. Then about a month ago, I left a shopping bag full of stuff on the train, and I didn’t get that back. And now I’ve lost my backpack and purse on the train. I just want to know why I seem determined to leave my possessions everywhere! ELIAS: … There are many expressions that are being created in the one action of this type of imagery. In your individual example of losing, so to speak, personal belongings and repeating that action, you present to yourself a communication in relation to your own movement in addressing to aspects of duplicity, in an involvement of many more expressions than merely an automatic discounting of yourself or an irritation or frustration in the action itself and what you view you must be accomplishing in replacement of these belongings. For in actuality, you offer yourself many communications. One, in association with repetition, is beneficial to gaining your attention. Repetition is beneficial to the facilitation of your learning process. Repetition offers you a method in which you may allow yourself to be examining your actions and choices and automatic responses more efficiently. These are your associations. They are not necessarily the situation, but they are the associations that you hold in relation to your individual beliefs. In this also, your perception draws to it all of the other communications that you are offering to yourself – your emotional communication, your assessment of yourself in your abilities or your lack of abilities, one being your ability in the function of attention and memory, in which you create this type of action of losing an object, and your automatic association is that you are not paying attention enough and that you are discounting of your ability of recall. For were you engaging memory and attention coupled together, in your assessment, you would not leave the object in a particular location. You would allow yourself to be paying attention and recalling that you have carried that object with you, and therefore you shall retain it as you move on to a new location, correct? SUE: Yes. ELIAS: Therefore, there is an automatic association with your lacking in certain abilities and expressions. Let me express to you, most of the associations that you create and most of the communications that you create in each of these actions are not expressed through thought. You do not turn your attention to the identification and evaluation of all that you are creating through a thought process. But this is not to say that all of these expressions are not occurring, for they are. There are many, many, many associations that are being expressed in each of these events individually. Now; another aspect of association which is automatically expressed is the association of being the victim of yourself. SUE: Yes. That struck me really strongly, that this is not a case of people taking things from me. I mean, in some cases, they have given things back that they found, and in some cases they haven’t, but it was something that I initially did. ELIAS: Correct. SUE: That was really clear. A victim of myself ... yeah, that says a lot of things that I see about myself. I don’t think of myself as a victim of other people, but I often see myself as my own victim. ELIAS: Quite. In this, let me express to you, you offer this type of imagery to yourself to emphasize that association to yourself, and offer yourself information that this is an automatic response and that you do hold choice. For the expression of victim is the association within your perception that you do not hold choice, or that you do not view what your choices are. In this, I may express to you, many, many, many individuals throughout your globe are presenting this particular challenge to themselves quite strongly, for you have moved yourselves in many of your societies into an alignment with psychological expressions in which you camouflage your individual association with being a victim. Therefore, you objectively express to yourselves that you do not participate in that type of action or that type of role. You do not view yourselves individually as being a victim, and you view this term in quite negative associations, and you associate that identification of a victim as a weakness. Therefore, you express to yourselves quite strongly objectively that you do not participate in that type of role or action. But I shall express to you that one large aspect of the belief system of duplicity IS the expression of victim, and although many, many, many individuals do not view themselves as creating that role or participating in that role or offering energy to that expression, you do, and you do not allow yourselves to view how you are expressing that automatically within your movements and within your creations and your associations within yourselves. Therefore, you continue to create that type of expression, for it is an automatic response. It requires no thought – and no association in action, many times – to be creating this particular role within the individual self as a victim. Therefore, you have quite creatively and quite efficiently engaged in types of imagery that shall allow you a clear and objectively obvious and simple example in how you automatically create these associations. This in actuality is quite beneficial, for if you are not recognizing your automatic responses to your creations and your choices, you shall also not allow yourself the recognition of your freedom of choice, and therefore you shall hinder your movement into an expression of freedom. Once you allow yourself to notice what you are creating, and you allow yourself to be paying attention and familiarizing yourself with your own individual automatic responses, this movement in itself offers you more choices. SUE: Okay. So in this case, what I’ve shown to myself is that I don’t make myself a victim of others, and I’m not even making myself a victim of circumstances. It’s a really clear case of making myself my own victim, of doing things to myself, and that that’s kind of a pattern that I need to be aware of? ELIAS: Yes. SUE: Okay, that makes sense to me. That makes a lot of sense. Yeah, because I ... yes! (Laughing) ELIAS: In this, also allow yourself to view the challenge and the difficulty that you present to yourself each time you create this movement in being a victim to yourself. Each time any individual moves themselves into this association, this role, this experience, this expression of viewing themselves or perceiving themselves to be a victim of any expression, be it through circumstance or other individuals or of yourself, you deny yourself choice, and therefore you create difficulty in your movement. In this situation, you have presented to yourself quite clear objective imagery in which you may identify your movement into the association of a victim of your own creations, and how you subsequently create thickness, difficulty, hindrances, and much more of a laborious expression of energy in relation to what you have created as the victim, correct? SUE: Yes. Yeah, after it happened, I was upset, too, because back when I lost my purse last winter, I thought, gee, I should keep like one credit card in my purse, and I should keep some cash around the house and things like that, and I didn’t do any of it. So when this happened, I found myself with no active money, and even though I had money in the bank, I couldn’t get to it, and I was very upset because I felt that if I had learned from that other experience, I wouldn’t have been in as much trouble this time around. ELIAS: Ah! But let me offer to you a different perspective upon what you have created. For in this, once again, you are automatically chastising and discounting of yourself, expressing to yourself [that] if you had followed your ideas in association with these physical expressions of duplicate items, or reserving some expression of finance or money in an accessible location, or not carrying with you all of these items continuously in the pouch, you would have offered yourself what? An expression of protection. SUE: Yeah, and I think that’s why I didn’t do it last winter. I remember thinking, well, I could do that, and then I thought no, I don’t like being paranoid, because if I do that, then I’m assuming this will happen again. ELIAS: Quite! SUE: So I didn’t do that, but then it happened again anyway, so that just made me more upset. I felt like I should have listened to those impulses. ELIAS: Ah, but these expressions were not impulses. This was a thought process that you engaged in association with the creation itself, with the choice itself to be a victim and the denial of your choices, and your automatic response in that moment was a thought process in association with protection. Now; you have chosen objectively to not be creating that movement into an expression of protection, recognizing that that type of movement and expression merely reinforces what you are creating. But you also stopped at that point and did not allow yourself to be listening to the communication that you were offering to yourself in association with this role that you were creating as the victim. Therefore, you present yourself with partial information, and you acknowledge yourself that you are not reinforcing or creating an additional expression of energy in the association with protection, recognizing what that expression may create. But you also were not continuing in that recognition and engaging the tool of the thought process to be defining and identifying the other information that you were offering to yourself in the event through other avenues of communication. Your thought process is designed as an objective tool to be helpful to you in defining and identifying the other avenues of communication that you offer to yourself, of which you engage many. In this, your attention held to the event and turned to the discounting of self, stopping in a furthering of discounting of self and allowing yourself not to engage the movement of protection, but holding in merely viewing the event, and not in actuality paying attention to the message that you are offering to yourself in your choice. Are you understanding? SUE: I think so, yeah. ‘Cause I didn’t look at what had really caused ... why I’d really done it to begin with. It’s interesting, too, that when I lost my purse back in January, I remember feeling very strongly like, ‘Well, things like this don’t happen to me, and if they do, then it works out well.’ And sure enough, that evening, somebody called me and got my purse back to me. So it was like even though I felt that I’d been my own victim, I felt that somebody else was going to help me out and get the stuff back to me. ELIAS: Quite, and rescue you! SUE: Yeah, and this time I kind of felt like my luck had run out, and I also felt like ... it upset me that I just didn’t think that was going to happen this time, and it hasn’t happened, and I feel like I’m not trusting myself to get the stuff back to me or to resolve it as easily as last time. ELIAS: Ah, but this offers you another aspect of information. For in part, you express to yourself, ‘I do not create in this manner, and shall I create in this manner, I shall also resolve this situation.’ But then you move into the expression of associating that another individual or some action outside of you shall rescue you and shall create the favorable solution. In this, you chose to not be listening to the message. The message is expressing to you an identification that you do at times create this role and association of victim with yourself, in relation to yourself being a victim of yourself. Now; in being a victim of yourself, you also look to yourself to resolve that situation – or in your terms, rescue yourself from this role of the victim – and the manner in which you create this is to be recognizing those automatic actions and responses that create your association with being a victim of yourself, and in that, allow yourself to recognize your choices. And in this, how you rescue yourself is not to be creating the association of the victim. But let me express to you also in quite physical [and] what you may term to be practical terms, recognizing that you and other individuals are addressing to automatic responses, and therefore at times you may be creating another automatic response, and you may view yourself to be in a similar experience once again. Now; in these types of experiences, rather than expressing to yourself the other automatic responses once again and creating the repetition once again of discounting yourself, of becoming frustrated in your actions and expressing irritation within yourself that you have once again created a similar expression, allow yourself to stop and listen to what you are communicating to yourself. Allow yourself to acknowledge the message. Once the message is acknowledged, it is unnecessary to be continuing to present it to yourself.” [session 750, January 02, 2001] NICKY: “I’ve had interesting occurrences with my teeth. I have frightful, short-lived pain in my head, and since then, it’s like I’m momentarily, periodically disoriented, which I associate with that pain, but I’m not really sure if it’s that or just the disorientation that I experience periodically. But the very next day, I set the top of my head on fire. Then I feel like at times, in moments, like I’m letting myself know that I’m going to be preparing myself for disengagement. Then I’m in a very emotional and withdrawn state. I can talk periodically with people, but most of the time in the past month or so, I would really rather be by myself. I’m just really topsy-turvy at times, and what I’d like to know is if I could have your help and insight and advice. That would be helpful me now. (Elias chuckles) I know you think it’s funny! (Laughing) ELIAS: Creating quite interesting imagery, are you not? NICKY: Yes! (Laughing) And it’s come to the point where I can’t even make sense of anything anymore. Mary and I were just talking, and it’s like ... you know, I found the perfect word, I was telling her – mitote – and it’s like, that’s the perfect word! Total chaos in my head! I’ve got five million things in my head! (5) ELIAS: Ha ha ha ha! NICKY: That’s funny too, huh? (Laughing) ELIAS: Let me express to you first of all, in relation to your withdrawal from other individuals and your creation of movement in what you identify as a desire for aloneness physically, I say to you to allow yourself permission to create that movement. What you are creating is a struggle. You are fighting with yourself, and in this, the incessant chatter that you are experiencing within you is an expression of continuous battle. Now; you are creating a movement inwardly, that you desire to be allowing yourself to become intimately familiar with you. Your desire moves in an expression of wanting to create an intimate relationship with YOU. This is an unfamiliar action, and you are not entirely objectively receiving the message that you are offering to yourself. The message that you are attempting to be expressing to yourself is that you wish to be creating a relationship with self similar to your identification of a relationship that you may be creating with another individual. Now; as this is the direction in which you are offering yourself a communication – but not entirely objectively receiving – you have created a type of association within you which appears to fragment yourself, in a manner of speaking, objectively, in which you view yourself interacting with yourself in a manner as though you were more than one individual. You create this type of fragmented interaction with yourself, for there is a slight identification underlying in which you do recognize that you wish to be creating this intimate relationship with yourself in like manner to relationships that you create with other individuals. But in a manner of speaking, this concept becomes confused within you, for your association within yourself questions how you may be accomplishing that type of action, for you are one individual. NICKY: Exactly. That did come across my mind. ELIAS: Therefore, how may you be creating a relationship with yourself in similar manner to creating a relationship with another individual, as there is no participation of another individual, but merely the one you? Now; in this confusion, you turn your attention outward and you project energy into interaction with other individuals, this being an expression that you create in an attempt to quell this movement or to satisfy this desire to be creating a relationship, but the word relationship implies in your definition an interaction with more than one entity. Therefore, in an attempt to be satisfying that definition of that term of relationship, you distract yourself in turning your attention outwardly and interacting with other individuals. But this is not satisfying, for this is not the direction of your attention that you wish to be creating. In this, the confusion persists. You continue to segment yourself in an attempt to create different entities that shall comply with the term of relationship in your definition, but this creates a contribution to the confusion objectively, and in fatigue of all of this confusion, you view yourself to be retreating in the expression of being alone physically or individually. And once creating that situation of allowing yourself to be alone with yourself, in a manner of speaking, you allow your thoughts and influences of your beliefs to be expressing to you and influencing your perception of yourself – that you are creating an inappropriate and a wrong action, that you are isolating yourself, which complies with psychological beliefs that you hold that this is unhealthy, and that you are retreating within yourself and that this is not good, for this shall incorporate aspects or the beginnings of what you identify or define as depression, and as you incorporate confusion and disorientation, you reinforce the psychological beliefs, in that the action you are choosing – to be alone with you – is unacceptable. Now; I shall express to you, what may be helpful and less conflicting within your movement is to allow yourself this time framework and this movement of acquainting yourself with you and all of the diverse aspects of you, allowing yourself to become familiar with your own communications that you offer to yourself through your emotional expressions, through your visual and sensual expressions, through your audio information. There are many avenues of communication that you offer to yourself that are all continuously moving and ARE communicating you to your objective awareness, but you are not paying attention. You are objectively beginning to notice, but in that noticing, you are also creating a tension within yourself and expressing expectations and judgments upon yourself in which you turn your attention to your thoughts, and in turning your attention merely to your thoughts in the attempt to be overriding all of these other avenues of communication, you are not paying attention to what is being expressed. You are paying attention to the signals, but you are not paying attention to the expressions, the message, the communication. Now; the manner in which you allow yourself to pay attention and recognize the communication is to allow yourself a calmness, to allow yourself permission to be listening to you. Let me express to you, Candace [Nicky], were you to be engaging a new type of relationship with another individual, would you not engage a time framework in which you allow yourself permission to be interactive with that individual? NICKY: Yes. ELIAS: Yes, you would, and you would allow yourself a devotion of time framework to be interactive with that individual, that you may allow yourself to offer yourself information with regard to that individual. In your terms – although you are not learning – in your terms and your definitions, you would allow yourself a time framework in which you learn about the other individual. In your terms, you would offer yourself a concentration of your attention to recognize the movements, the behaviors, the preferences, the joys, the sorrows, the expressions of that individual, would you not? NICKY: Yes. ELIAS: But you do not offer this consideration to yourself. NICKY: But I don’t know how! ELIAS: The manner in which you create that action is very similar to the manner in which you create the action of creating a relationship objectively with another individual. NICKY: So engage it the same way? ELIAS: Yes. Pay attention to you. Allow yourself permission to engage time with you, to listen to you, to explore what is being expressed by you, to notice behaviors, to notice preferences, to notice your communications to you. For you communicate to you in very similar manners that communication is executed between yourself and another individual. There are many aspects of you, not merely one, and there are many avenues in which different aspects of you communicate to your objective awareness. As you allow yourself a time framework in which you relax and calm yourself and pay attention to your own communications, you allow yourself to become familiar with you. One of the avenues of communication that you desire to be objectively involved with is your communication between your subjective and objective awarenesses. NICKY: Yes, that’s a strong one! ELIAS: And in this, in similar manner to creating a relationship with another individual, you shall be experiencing difficulty in creating a relationship with another individual if you are not paying attention and if you are not listening to the communications of the other individual, shall you not? NICKY: Right. ELIAS: How shall you familiarize yourself with this aspect of you if you are not listening to its communication? This is the nature of your desire, Candace [Nicky]. This is also, in this present now, the source of your confusion. You may be creating an intimate relationship with you, and I may express to you that this intimacy in relationship with you may be expressing much more of a fullness and a fulfillment within you than you may perceive in creating a relationship with another individual. NICKY: That came across my mind too. I did think exactly that. I thought, oh my goodness, that’s what I want. It’s a strong thing. I wasn’t aware that that was the source of the confusion, though. ELIAS: And this is not bad and this is not wrong. I may express to you that in this action, in allowing yourself to be paying attention to you and to your communications and creating this intimacy in relationship with you, you also subsequently shall allow yourself a much greater freedom and capacity objectively to be engaging much more of an intimacy with other individuals. NICKY: Cool. So that was the reason ... I mean, setting my hair on fire had to do with that too? (Elias laughs and Nicky cracks up) ELIAS: Now; I shall express to you that in this imagery that you have offered to yourself with respect to events concerning this particular physical aspect of your body, your head, this imagery engages twofold information to you. One aspect of the information is in relation to what we are discussing, in attempting to gain your attention in paying attention to you. As you identify quite strongly the central expression of yourself and you define the central mechanism of yourself to be your mind, you create physical imagery in association with your physical head as your outward identification of your attempt to be communicating to that which you perceive to be you. The other aspect of imagery that you are presenting to yourself, once again, is in relation to the parallel that you create with Michael [Mary]. NICKY: Really, huh? ELIAS: As Michael [Mary] has created a physical affectingness in association with an aspect of the nervous system, and is creating a physical affectingness within this same body area of head, you also parallel temporarily in a recognition of that energy and that expression. Now; you have not created the same type of affectingness in actual physical nerves (6), but you have created a temporary expression of affecting the functioning of similar nerves, which creates sensations or uncomfortableness within your physical brain. NICKY: I kinda had an inkling of that one. Can you give me ... let me see where I put it. Michael [Mary] gave me a brief on your definition of or the definition of emotions, and that they are a communication and not a reaction to things happening? ELIAS: Correct. NICKY: Can you ... like can you be brief on exactly what is being communicated? Whether you’re happy or content or angry or hysterical or sad, whatever emotion you’re experiencing, what is the indicator? ELIAS: The emotion that you feel is the signal, which attains your attention. Within that signal, as you recognize it to be a communication rather than a reaction, you allow yourself to engage your thoughts in the function in which they have been designed. You incorporate your thoughts as an interpreter or a questioner of the communication. Your thoughts cooperate with your emotional communication. In this, if you are identifying and defining your emotions to merely be a reaction, you shall create a definition of the emotion itself as a reaction. Therefore, you define in one term happy, sad, disappointed, angry, frustrated, anxious, and this is the extent of the definition that you offer to yourself. You have merely defined the signal. You have not defined the message, for you are not looking to the message, for you define [that] there is no message. It is merely a reaction, and therefore it may be identified or defined in one term. But as you recognize that the feeling is the signal, and within the signal is a communication, you no longer merely pay attention to the signal and the defining of the signal, but you allow the function of your thoughts to move beyond merely defining the signal. And in this, I may express to you, as you recognize that this is a communication, your thought shall automatically move in its function, and it shall define more of what is being expressed than merely the signal. The automatic function of thought is to translate and define communications. It defines and translates all of your communications. It translates communication that you offer to yourself through senses, inner and outer senses. It also communicates through emotion. It defines what you are communicating to your objective awareness. It is the objective translator. This is its function. It is not a function of thought to be eliminating or overriding other avenues of communication. But as you do not define certain avenues of communication AS communication, you attempt to incorporate this tool of thought as a method in which you may override certain communications, not merely emotion. You attempt to override communications in many forms through the incorporation of thought. You deny your visual communication at times through thought, and express to yourselves that you are incorporating trickery through your vision. You attempt to override communications through your audio, your hearing, and you express to yourselves within your thoughts that you have not heard what you have heard. You do not merely engage thought to override the communication of emotion. You have incorporated, in a manner of speaking, a misuse of the function of thought, and this creates confusion, for thought is a tool that you have designed in objective awareness to be translating and defining other avenues of communication. NICKY: Wow. Very interesting; very, very interesting. Okay, would it be fair to say then, in a moment of emotion, no matter what it is, that you could bring yourself to recognize that and say to yourself, wait a minute, hold it, what I’m experiencing right now is more than what I think it is? ELIAS: Correct.... NICKY: Would your thought then ... would you allow yourself to be less restrictive and go beyond just the psychological point of the emotion at the time? ELIAS: Correct. I may express to you, it is unnecessary that you even incorporate that extensiveness of identification. Merely the identification that you are offering yourself a communication is sufficient, for your thoughts function automatically. Your thought knows what its function is. It creates this function of interpretation of definition and of translation automatically, for this is its natural function, just as your physical organs function automatically. They know what their function is in design. You need not be thinking and directing of them. They automatically function in the design in which they have been created. Thought also is a function, and it knows what its function is. YOU have created additional movements with thought, and have created associations of thought which are different from its actual function.” [session 751, Janaury 02, 2001] AXEL: “During these last two years, I think I have been resolving many issues in my life, but finally addressing myself to the area of relationships, looking for a sort of ideal romance. I know this is a tough one for me. I guess that’s why I put it least on my list of things to do. It seems what I am learning in this touches every aspect of reality creation – perception, the now, trust, knowing, acceptance, holding tightly to energy. Everything comes together, almost as if this topic was a key element in my life, and now I’ve made up my mind to really find out what this is all about. The second part of my question would be, if in this context you could comment on my interaction with a colleague from the sales office. I told myself I won’t put myself into something that creates conflict, but now, here I go! ELIAS: (Chuckling) And you ARE creating conflict. (Chuckling again) Let me express to you an acknowledgment in your identification of the interaction and interplay and expressions that are exhibited in this subject matter of relationships, and in your accuracy of allowing yourself the recognition that all of these aspects of expression and perception are intimately involved in every aspect of your creations throughout the entirety of your focus, not merely in relation to relationships that you engage with other individuals. Now; in this, as you are allowing yourself to recognize all of the aspects, all of the concepts, all of the expressions that hold involvement in this subject matter and within your focus in its entirety, the key in allowing yourself to be creating what you identify as your objective want is to be turning your attention to self, familiarizing yourself with all of the different avenues of communication that you provide to yourself, familiarizing yourself with your creation of your behaviors and how they are influenced automatically by your beliefs, and the recognition that in actuality and in definite terms, your perception is the most important aspect of your reality to be allowing yourself an awareness of, an understanding of, and a recognition of in genuineness. For I may express to you, as I have expressed previously, it matters not what is created or exhibited in physical objective imagery that you view to be outside of yourself. What holds tremendous significance is your perception of what you are creating. Now; let me also express to you, in regard to this particular subject matter of relationships that you may be engaging with another individual, one of the most affecting hindrances of individuals within physical focus which creates obstacles in not actualizing the types of relationship that they wish to be creating, yourself also, is a lack of allowance of yourself to be expressing your want. Now; this may appear to you objectively to be quite simplistic, and also at times to be quite confusing, for you express to yourself objectively an identification of your want. But the mere identification of your want is not what shall create the actualization, through your perception, of that want. Therefore, you may express to yourself that you want or wish to be engaging in relationship with other individuals in harmony, that you wish to be creating a particular type of relationship in a romantic expression and intimacy. But the mere identification of the want is not what shall move your perception into the actualization or the materialization of that want, and the one aspect of expression that is most affecting and hindering of that movement and that actualization of the want is that although you allow yourself an identification of what you want, you do not allow yourself permission to create that. For you do not trust that you actually hold the ability to create that yourself, for your perception is influenced by your belief that the requirement for this type of creation lies in what you define as a co-creation, which expresses to you that you create some expression of participation in part, and that another individual creates in part some expression of participation also. Therefore, you are automatically limiting and denying your own ability in choice, for you are defining to yourself that your aspect of the creation of a relationship is merely half. You are not creating the entirety of the relationship; you are creating half or a portion of the participation. This is the pitfall, and this is the identification of why many individuals do not and are not creating the actualization of the want, for you are not recognizing the power and the reality of your individual perception. You are not recognizing objectively that this instrument of perception, which you have incorporated into your individual focus and manifestation in this physical dimension, is in actuality what creates ALL – and I emphasis this term of ALL – of your reality. It creates the other individuals. It creates your interaction with the individuals. It creates their individual interaction with you. It creates ALL of the exchanges, circumstances, situations, energy, expressions – every aspect, every moment, every movement which is created within your reality is created through your individual perception. Now; this is key, for in recognizing that your perception holds this tremendous expression of power and that YOU in actuality create ALL of the interactions that you experience, you also may begin to recognize within yourself the identifications of your own limitations that you place upon yourself through the recognition that there are certain aspects of your reality that you attribute to other individuals, that you deny yourself your choices in relation to the choices of other individuals. And therefore, you allow other individuals to dictate to you your reality, your choices or lack of choices, and this communicates in validation to yourself in the creation of emotional communications – in frustration, in discomfort, in disappointment, in anxiousness, in the expression at times of sadness – and your identification in objective thought of these communications many times translates into an expression of discounting of yourself, which merely reinforces your lack of acceptance and recognition of your ability to create in genuineness the expression of your want. Now; express to me your impression of your interaction with this other individual that you engage within your employ. AXEL: … My impression is that there is a probability of a relationship, but it does not manifest because of a lack of trust. But like you said before ... my conclusion is, it’s a lack of trust from the other individual at least as much as mine, and this is exactly what you explained to me before. ELIAS: Yes. Now; allow yourself to pay attention to this interaction, for you are offering to yourself an objective, clear reflection in this interaction of what you are creating within self. As you create a lack of trust in your ability to be creating this relationship – as you deny yourself your own choice and question within yourself the actual validity and reality that it is in actuality your own perception which shall create the entirety of the relationship – as you express these within yourself, you project outwardly in energy, and the other individual serves perfectly as a reflection to you in very similar type of expression and energy, which offers you the opportunity to clearly view and identify what YOU are creating. Now; this is significant, for in not allowing yourself to move into the expression of judgment upon self, you may allow yourself the recognition that as you view what you yourself are expressing and creating, you also hold choice, and therefore you may offer to yourself a new expression of freedom in allowing yourself to express permission to yourself to create what you want, and it matters not what the choice is of the other individual. You hold the ability to create the relationship anyway. AXEL: Elias, at this point, I have a feeling that at least one time a few days ago, I was quite understanding of this issue already. Can you validate this? ELIAS: Yes, and I may express to you that this also is a movement that you have created in allowing yourself a preparation for and an objective understanding of what we engage in within conversation this day. AXEL: Aha! I see. ELIAS: You have offered yourself an experience that shall allow you more of a clarity in objective understanding and assimilation of what you and I are discussing now.” [session 754, January 10, 2001] JOE: “Basically, I think in a nutshell – and you can tell me if I’m right or wrong – these energy centers, or their dynamics, I should say, are a function of subjective understanding, and they really aren’t influenced that much by attempts at objective manipulation. Is that correct? ELIAS: In a manner of speaking. Now; I may express to you, they are affected somewhat through an objective manipulation or through what you term to be objective methods. You may be somewhat affecting of them, or affecting of their movement. As an example, I may express to you that you may allow yourself to physically visualize any particular energy center [and] recognize the color vibration that is expressed and associated with that particular energy center. You may be noticing of its physical rotation and radiation of energy, and you may choose objectively to be manipulating that movement by expressing an objective suggestion or direction to that particular energy center, and you shall notice that it shall follow your objective direction and therefore alter its physical movement. But the affectingness of that direction shall be expressed, in the recognition of your objective awareness, in much less of a capacity than it shall be as you allow the direction from the subjective awareness. Now; in this, let me offer to you an example that may offer you more of an objective clarity in relation to this type of interaction a |
