Gem of the Month
The Gem of the Month is a regular feature that provides an excerpt from a recent transcript that captures a snapshot of essential Elias.
This month’s Gem comes from Merrill’s private session:
MERRILL: “It seems to me that every major choice that I have made in this focus has drawn me into another teaching experience, and to me the information that you present in these sessions is so fantastically important that I am compelled to study it and try to completely comprehend it and experience it.
In view of my draw toward teaching, I wonder if someday I might hold the knowledge and experience that I might help others assimilate this information. How could this be accomplished most effectively? And should I follow some particular path, or is it sufficient to just be the straight little sapling and make myself available to answer questions and interact with others? Is there some such particular role in all this for me? I am interacting now with a few people as pen pals around the Elias materials. Would you comment on that?
ELIAS: Very well. I will express to you, my friend, that this is the nature of redefining terms in relation to this shift in consciousness, and therefore also redefining your reality.
For the term of ‘teaching’ within your reality is being redefined as you widen your awareness, and you recognize that you are not teaching, and other individuals, or yourself, are not learning. You are travelers, and you are sharing. You are dropping the veils of separation, you are turning your attention to self, and you are moving into the expression of genuinely becoming the straight sapling, and therefore offering an expression of example and a vulnerability or OPENNESS to be interactive with other individuals but holding your attention upon self naturally, and this offers a beneficial expression to other individuals. This is the nature of acceptance.
For as you redefine your terms and your reality, you recognize that the expression of teaching, so to speak, is that which implies that there are individuals or essences that hold more knowledge than others, and this is incorrect; or that there are individuals or essences that are set apart or greater than others, and this also is incorrect. It also implies that the learner is less than, and this once again is incorrect.
Now; this is not to say that you do not share information, knowledge, and experiences with each other, for you do. And in that sharing, you offer energy to each other in widening your awarenesses. You share experiences and information to be allowing yourselves and others a greater exploration of your physical dimension and an expansion of your participation within it.
Now; in this, you may also view the analogy of the straight little sapling. It is not isolated unto itself only. As you allow yourself to visualize a sapling, saplings grow upon your earth in proximity to other trees, for there is no creation of a sapling independent of other trees. For in your terms, the sapling is born of other trees; there is no separation. Therefore, also, there is interaction, in a manner of speaking. It may not be expressed in the same manner that you interact with other individuals, for your species are created differently, but there is interaction. The sapling interacts, but it grows without instruction and without instructing.” [session 860, July 03, 2001]

Recent Digests & Exercises
The website is a work in progress! New transcripts come out just about every week that further expand the information offered to date by Elias. New excerpts are added to various Digests every month, and new Digests and Exercises when new material is offered.
Many of you have written to see if there was an easy way for us to show what Digests have received updates each month. And our standard reply has been that there is no easy way, as managing the website is almost a full time job in and of itself already. So we're open to any suggestions, but for now the best way is to check the file size listed in the Digests table of contents page (available as a link in the left-hand navigation column).

Power Users Tip of the Month - Exploring the Transcripts
Last month we took a look at how to get the most out of the Library. This month we’re going to turn our attention to the Transcripts.
Did you know there have been over 1,100 recorded Elias sessions since May 1995? Of that total, the transcribing folks just released session 862, and there are now 642 transcripts available!
How come so “few?” Well, there are 63 transcripts from 1995 that need revising before they will be made available. That’s because during that first year there was no set transcribing team assembled, and various people did their best before Vicki Pendley took over the job full time. Those 63 transcripts are being checked from the original videotapes, and will be available in the not too distant future. Most of the information in them has been covered in greater detail in subsequent sessions, so there aren’t any large gaps in what’s available.
Also, there are presently 57 “x-files,” or files withheld by request for personal reasons or technical problems. Many of them were transcribed by Vicki Pendley, but they are no longer transcribed until the person gives their permission. Most of the information is available in the existing Transcripts, Digests, and Exercises.
All x-file session numbers and dates are noted in the Transcripts table of contents pages. To see them, just click on Transcripts in the left-hand navigation column, and click on a year, and go to the bottom of the page. You will see links to all x-files there.
So, we wish to encourage anyone with an x-file to consider making it available and add it to the growing body of work for all to benefit from. Just contact Bobbi Houle at momcat28@sti.net.
The titles used in each Transcript are selected by Vicki and Bobbi as a way to provide a summary of the main concepts. If you check, you’ll see that it wasn’t until session 79, in March 1996, that Vic began to regularly use single titles. Her first double title came in session 247, December 1997, and around August of 1998, you can see multiple titles, sometimes 3-5, being used. This reflects the ongoing dynamics, the natural process of trying to highlight main concepts in the ever-growing body of work.
Next month, we’ll look at getting the most from the Gems.
