ELIAS: “You have allowed yourselves the opportunity to be experiencing your empathic sense, which allows you to disassociate with your physical being and merge with another physical entity. You have also been presented with the opportunity to be experiencing your beingness and its intricacies through our exercise in clarity.” (1) [session 162, April 06, 1997]
ELIAS: “The closest expression that I may offer you within the confines of your language is to be incorporating the word of mergence, for within this word of mergence, you develop an idea within you of more than one thing absorbing into each other, and this presents you with a very small concept of a lack of separation. But even within the mergence you hold separation, for you hold that there are several things that are coming together and absorbing together, and there are individual things that shall be distinct as they are merged.
“In this, if you are moving to the direction of one singular link of consciousness – which is not a thing – one expression of energy, how may that one expression of energy occupy all space arrangements, occupy all time frameworks, and be all of consciousness and all of all essences simultaneously if it is a thing?
“You express to me, this is very big. These concepts presented to you are presented in very small manners, in very small measure, but these concepts are far vaster than you comprehend, and you move not even close to actualizing their reality in your reality.
“This be the reason that I express to you of skipping shells, for I hold the awareness that you may not understand information that I may offer you, but of what use shall this information be to you within your reality? For you may not be applying this information to be beneficial to you within your physical reality, for you may not even conceive of its reality!
“... This be the reason that I focus my attention with you upon your physical reality and what you create within your physical reality, and how to be manipulating energy within your physical reality more efficiently and moving into areas that you have chosen to be creating within this physical dimension with more effortlessness and less trauma. I am quite understanding with no doubtfulness that this type of information may be fascinating and quite interesting to be listening to within physical focus, but it is not useful to you in many areas within your everyday movement.” [session 333, October 19, 1998]
MIKE: Greetings! (Elias chuckles) Okay, the first thing I would like to hear from you is your explanation of nonphysical focus of myself, yourself, and Patel. (2) (Pause)
ELIAS: Nonphysical focus of myself?
MIKE: With me, with yourself and Patel.
ELIAS: This is difficult to be explaining to you within physical language and terminology. Therefore, I wish that you be understanding of this aspect of communication, for I am translating into your language concepts that do not translate well within the confines of your understanding.
You may look to experiences in physical focuses and understand the relationships between individuals. In this, I may express to you hypothetically that yourself and myself and Patel have engaged within a physical focus and have held a relationship of friendship, and you shall understand what I am conveying to you.
In terms of nonphysical relationships, it is more difficult for you to understand the interaction which occurs, for it is not the same as physical relationships.
In this, there are relationships, in a manner of speaking, with essences that are occurring simultaneous to any other direction that they choose individually, in focusing their attention of essence into other areas of consciousness. In this, your essence presently focuses certain elements of its attention into physical dimensions.
You are a physical focus of your essence, a specific directedness of attention. Myself and Patel are not focusing attention within physical dimensions. But your essence does not focus all of its attention within physical dimensions. Elements of its attention are directed in nonphysical areas of consciousness. In these areas, there is interaction between these three essences.
Now; the type of interaction which occurs is an element of mergence. It is an action of mergence which occurs between these three essences and directs certain elements of attention to certain qualities, or that which may be translated as certain aspects of tones of essence.
In a manner of speaking, I may figuratively offer you a type of example translated into physical manifestations in relation to emotion. In this, you may direct your attention to a specific emotion.
Now; this one particular emotion is not the entirety of yourself, but it is an aspect of the qualities of yourself. It is an expression of yourself. In this expression of a particular emotion that you may choose to focus upon, were you to engage a mingling of your consciousness with another individual, directing your attention, both, to this same emotion, this same quality of self, you would then share an experience together of exploring that particular quality of yourselves and exchanging experiences in relation to this particular emotion. Are you understanding thus far?
ELIAS: Very well. In this, as essences merge, they are exchanging experiences of qualities of themselves, but the difference is the element of perception.
Within physical dimensions, there is a creation of perception. This is your understanding and your identification with your reality. Perception almost holds a type of solidity to it. It is a created element of your reality. Within essence, there is no creation of perception, for perception is a translation, and within essence, this translation is unnecessary.
Therefore, within the experience of mergence, figuratively in your physical terminology, there is a completeness of this mergence, and there is a sharing and an investigation and exploration of qualities that are held within essence, but they are not filtered through perception.
Now; within physical focus and within your belief systems of spirituality, you magnate within your thought process to these types of ideas of actions that you wish to be understanding of, for you view that if you are understanding these types of actions, you shall hold more of an understanding of your connections with other essences, and you also translate that you shall offer yourself a more efficient method to be accessing the energy of another essence that you hold connections with, in your terms. For in actuality, you are interconnected with all essences and all consciousness, as you are aware.
I express to you that your movement in the direction of curiosity of the interaction that occurs nonphysically between essences is not necessarily helpful to you within your physical focus, for it does not translate into clarity within the action of translation of perception. Therefore, there is an element of distortion in this type of translation, for you are grasping at known elements of your physical reality that you attempt to be translating nonphysical aspects into.
Now; let me also express to you that you may be quite interactive with other essences nonphysically, and you may be engaged in the action of mergence with other essences, and this holds a different type of action and translation with respect to an individual focus of essence. Now; let me further offer explanation in this area.
You may be allowing yourself an awareness of actions occurring within other focuses of your essence, and this may offer you objective helpfulness in your understanding of your experiences within your focus, and as I have stated to you, all of your focuses are affecting of all of your focuses, for there is a continual exchange of energy.
Now; there is also a continual exchange of energy within essence, in all of the aspects or areas of attention of essence. Therefore, all of essence is continuously interactive with you, and in certain manners is also continuously affecting with you.
Therefore, in the interaction nonphysically of mergence of essences and the relationship that they may hold with each other, in a manner of speaking, this is affecting of you also, but it does not translate into your physical focus in the same manner that other physical focuses translate, for your attention is focused to be processing, experiencing, and exploring physical experiences. Therefore, there is a separation created which does not interpret objectively many elements of nonphysical action and the energy which is exchanged and affecting of you. The affectingness of these types of experiences within nonphysical areas of consciousness are offered subjectively and move without thickness into your focus to be offering energy in your own creation of you as a focus. Now; let me clarify.
The energy which is offered to you by another focus is the energy of that focus within its experiences. You are receiving of that energy, and you are either allowing yourself to be experiencing it in the manner that it is being experienced in the other focus or you are reconfiguring the energy and applying it to your focus in the most beneficial manner, but there is an element of perception that is involved in this action. Therefore, there is an element of thickness within the exchange of energy between focuses, for there is a translation into objective perception.
You view this as an action or a thing which occurs – and subsequently is accepted – outside of yourself, in the same manner that you shall be viewing another individual in any action that they choose, and you view this to be outside of yourself. It is their action. You may be drawing yourself to this action, but they are creating of the action. This is your translation. It is an objective translation and perception.
Now; within the action of essence, the mergence of different essences may be occurring, and the energy is offered to the focus, but it shall not be perceived as being created outside of the individual. It shall be accepted without the thickness, and therefore shall automatically be translated into your reality as an element of yourself. Are you understanding?
ELIAS: In this, you may encounter another individual or another focus, and within the encounter they may offer a concept to you, and you may be listening to this and express to yourself, ‘Ah, the individual has offered or given to me a new concept.’ You shall perceive this as something created outside of yourself and subsequently offered to you.
Whereas within the action of communication of essences merged and the energy offered to you through this action, you shall perceive the energy as being that which is created by yourself. The idea shall spring from your own thoughts. It shall not appear to be being created outside of yourself. It shall naturally emerge as an element of yourself.
This be the type of action which occurs within the interaction of these three essences, and the benefit to yourself, as the physical focus in this type of action, is that you shall be lent energy by the experiences that occur nonphysically.
Therefore, it matters not that you hold an objectively translated understanding of the relationship which is held within the mergence and interaction of these essences, but that you allow yourself the openness of acceptance of energy and the knowing – which stems from within your own acceptance of self – that the interaction that is occurring within essence, of these three essences, is lending energy to your movement within your physical focus.
Now; let me also express to you that at times, you within a physical focus may be blocking of the receiving of this type of energy, and may be deflecting that particular energy to another area of essence if you are not accepting of the expression of the energy which is automatically offered.
I am not expressing to you that this is the action that you are engaging. I am merely offering you an example, that within physical focus you do hold the ability to be rejecting, so to speak, that energy which may be offered to you through essence in conjunction with its mergence with other essences.
As to the actual interaction and event of these types of movements within essence, there is no actual terminology or words, so to speak, that shall offer you an understanding adequately of the actual occurrence which is taking place within these energy exchanges of essence. I may offer to you the most efficient words within your language, and those would be the expression of mergence and exploration of tone and quality, which are shared in similarity within these essences.
This is an action that occurs within essence continuously. It is unlimited and occurring within many, many, many essences continuously within consciousness. This also is occurring within your physical focuses with certain aspects of your consciousness, but you do not hold an objective awareness of this action, for you have created a separation of your awarenesses.
This is not to say that you are not continuing to be creating all of the elements of movement of consciousness. You merely do not hold an objective awareness of what you are creating. Are you understanding?
ELIAS: Very well. In this, as you allow yourself more movement in the area of your inner sense of conceptualization, you shall hold a greater understanding of these types of actions within consciousness.
I have offered much encouragement to individuals within physical focus to be practicing in this area of conceptualization, for although you may not create language for your understanding of many of these types of actions, you shall hold the understanding and you shall hold the knowing if you are allowing yourself to be more fully exercising your inner sense of conceptualization.” [session 363, February 21, 1999]
JOANNE: “I’ve been trying to merge with things. The other day I was trying to merge with a chair, and at first I just felt like I was spreading out, growing, and I felt really good about that, but I didn’t feel like a chair, so I didn’t think I’d done it. Then I was thinking, well, what would a chair feel like? What would it feel like to be a chair? And all of a sudden I had this really good feeling, and I just knew that the chair was really, really happy just being a chair, and I just started to laugh and laugh, and it took me quite a while to stop laughing about the whole thing, and the rest of the day I walked around grinning at everybody I met! I was wondering if that was even close to merging with the chair.
ELIAS: (Chuckling) I shall....
JOANNE: I had to call my mom, I was laughing so hard! I was just waiting for the guys in white coats to show up because I had really happy furniture!
ELIAS: Ha ha ha ha ha! Ah! Now; first of all, I shall express to you that this is also a translation, in people-izing your furniture! Ha ha ha ha ha! (The group cracks up)
TED: I like that word! People-izing! (Laughing)
ELIAS: (Grinning) You have created an identification of ‘happy’ with the consciousness of the chair. This is your translation.
Now; I shall not express to you that in a manner of speaking, you are not accurate, for in a manner of speaking, you may be accurate, for within the element of translation, it may be interpreted that your furniture IS happy, (laughter) for the consciousness that comprises any of the elements of objects that you view within physical matter that you have created is in physical terms content to be what it has designed itself to be in energy, and therefore, it holds no conflict and it holds satisfaction in being, merely.
Therefore, you may be translating this into happiness, and this is familiar to you. But I shall express to you quite amusingly that this would be very similar to what you project in the direction of your creatures and your plants also within physical focus. You are quite accomplished at people-izing all elements within your physical dimension. You identify what you understand and what you know, and obviously, you do not hold very sad furniture! Ha ha ha ha ha! Therefore, if it is content to be what it is, it may be translated into being happy. (Chuckling)
JOANNE: The chair was really happy just being a chair! (Laughing)
ELIAS: Quite! Ha ha ha ha! And in this, you hold an understanding of different elements of consciousness in physical objective terms.
Initially you experienced an element of confusion, for you were attempting to be understanding, what may a chair experience? What is the experience of a chair? But you also automatically translate this into, ‘What does the chair feel?’ The chair does not hold emotion. YOU hold emotion. The chair holds experience in consciousness, but as YOU hold emotion, you translate the experience of the chair into your experience of feeling. (Chuckling)
JOANNE: Was I even close to merging with the chair?
ELIAS: Yes! I express to you validation in this experience. You have accomplished the mergence with the consciousness of the chair. You have merely translated the experience into feelings, which is acceptable.” (Chuckling) [session 447, August 17, 1999]
JEREMY: “Me and Jim tried an exercise ... well, he had me do it ’cause he’s pretty accustomed to it. But I tried empathically, I guess you’d say, merging with a horse, just to see what impressions and stuff I would get, and later that night I dreamt that the horse was talking to me, and it told me it just came in from out of town! (Elias grins, and everybody laughs) I was curious as to what the horse was talking about. (Jeremy and Elias both chuckle)
ELIAS: Let me express to you that even within physical focus and the configuration of energy which is offered of consciousness within your physical dimension, it may be altered or reconfigured, even as it has already manifest in agreement with yourselves into specific forms.
(Grinning) Now; this is an interesting direction that you are choosing to be moving into, for I have expressed previously of the lack of impossibility within your physical dimension, but your identifications within your physical dimension [are] of absolutes. Therefore, as you hold an identification or a belief of absolutes, you do not allow yourselves the expression or the recognition or the manifestation of what you view to be impossible.
In these absolutes, you view that a manifestation of a creature or an object – any element which is consciousness within your physical dimension – is what it is, and it is not necessarily, for it is consciousness, and not being a manifestation of essence, it holds great freedom in how it may configure or reconfigure itself.
Your identification of configuration of energy into matter – into what you identify as living elements of your reality – is that it is manifest in a specific form, and once it is manifest, it shall continue in that particular configuration.
This is an offering also, Shynla [Cathy], of the confusing areas of behaviors that you may identify in your creatures.
Individuals at times become confused with the behaviors of creatures, for they may exhibit one particular line of behaviors for an extended time framework, and suddenly alter their behavior extremely. At times this may be an expression of a reconfiguration of energy, and in that reconfiguration of energy, other energy is moving into primary expression, in very similar manner to yourselves and all of your aspects of yourselves.
You hold one primary aspect that you identify as yourself. This is your objective expression of you and your identification of you, but you hold countless aspects of you, which – as I have expressed many times – are all of the you’s of you, but they are not the primary expression. They are not occupying the primary position in objective expression.
One holds primary expression or position, but within any moment, any other aspect of you may move into primary position and may exchange positions, and in actuality, this is an occurrence that is created quite frequently. You are very often exchanging positions with other aspects of you, other you’s of you. Some of these aspects are expressed more obviously different. Some are expressed so very slightly in difference that objectively, you yourself do not even notice the differences.
Within consciousness, there is an availability of all of the energy of consciousness to be exchanging with other areas of expressed consciousness.
Therefore, (grinning) I shall express to you that the consciousness of a table may choose to be exchanging with the consciousness of a horse, and the consciousness of the horse – in part, not in entirety – may move to the expression of the table, and the consciousness of the table may arrive in a new physical location of an expression of a horse, and as you create your experience of mergence and interaction with the table in agreement with the consciousness of the table, and you visually allow yourself to view the movement of the physical matter, what you are viewing is the movement of energy, which may configure itself in any manner it chooses.
In this also, you entertain yourselves with the ideas of the impossible, in your parlor tricks and your desire to be manifesting your apple in your hand in your thin air. (Grinning) This is merely the recognition of identifying within yourself your knowing of your ability to be manipulating energy, which is consciousness, and you may be directing of consciousness, and as all consciousness IS all consciousness and is in agreement to all expressions of itself – essence or not essence – and as there is no separation, it may be quite easily manipulated into any type of configuration.
(Humorously) Therefore, as you engage your next exercise of tipping your table, you may express an identification of welcome to your table holding aspects of your horse! (Grinning, and laughter)
JEREMY: So then the horse in my dream would be imagery of me, that I am holding this ability or moving in this direction?
ELIAS: It is the identification, within your imagery, that the consciousness holds the ability to be reconfiguring, and holds movement, and therefore the statement that it has “recently arrived in town.” (Grinning, and laughter) Not that the horse has recently arrived in your physical location, but that there may be different expressions of consciousness that were not necessarily expressed within the physical manifestation of that creature previous, for it has reconfigured its energy and incorporated different energy.
What you have offered yourself in this imagery is an identification of this action, and that it is possible and not impossible, and that there are many more elements in your universe and your reality than you view ... yet! Ha ha ha!” [session 502, November 11, 1999]
MIKE: “I have one question that’s been nagging me since my session with you in Germany. (3) I’m a bit confused by this painter focus of mine. In that, I have asked you on numerous occasions if there are any other focuses of mine I would be able to look up that had any other kind of notoriety that I’d be able to research or anything. I’ve counted through all my sessions and I’ve asked you five times in the last year similar questions, and all the answers have been no. Then all of a sudden in Germany when I asked you – or it just came out, I didn’t even ask you directly – it turns out I had this painter focus who is more famous than any other focus I have. And I was wondering, why?
ELIAS: Ha ha ha ha ha! I may express to you, Mikah (Michael), I have responded to you quite specifically. In this, I may express to you, be remembering all time is simultaneous, first of all.
Now; I may also express to you that although you associate with time in linear terms, movements of essence are simultaneous; but in association with your recognition of time and also your identification of time in relation to how you incorporate thought processes, many times I choose to be offering information which shall translate through these layers of consciousness in relation to your physical dimension and how you associate in relation to its design incorporating time.
In this, let me express to you, Mikah (Michael), I may be offering information within any time framework that may be confusing to any of you within that time framework, for your objective understanding, associations, beliefs and what you know in the design of your physical dimension shall be confusing to you, for you do associate with linear time in conjunction with experience. Therefore, as I recognize individuals’ assimilation of information in conjunction with linear time and the individual’s movements in association with their assimilation of the information that I am offering to you each, I choose time frameworks in which I shall offer certain expressions of information.
Within the area of consciousness that I focus my attention, or that I occupy, all of these probabilities that you inquire of are already actualized. They are already occurring. Those that have occurred past, those that are what you associate to be future, they are all occurring presently. But within your recognition of time, they may be associated as past or future.
Within each moment that any individual is offering an inquiry to myself, I shall respond to them, in relation to their linear time framework, a translation of activity or associations that are occurring within their association of the now. Are you following thus far?
ELIAS: Therefore, there are some actions and probabilities, movements, that within your association of movement in conjunction with linear time may not translate into the design of your reality within a particular moment, for it may be associated in your reality as a future probability.
Once again, this is the reason that I am continuously reiterating and reinforcing in this information that there are no absolutes. But in the design of what is familiar to you within your physical dimension, you do associate MANY expressions as absolutes.
As an example, many individuals express the inquiry to myself, ‘How many focuses of attention do I incorporate in this physical dimension?’ In the moment, I offer a physical number. This is NOT an absolute. It may or may not fluctuate, dependent upon the individual essence and its activity. This may incorporate many different actions: fragmentation, mergences, other essences that may choose to be interactive and in mergence with any particular essence and creating other focuses in that moment of mergence. There are many different avenues of movement that are incorporated within consciousness. But in translating those movements and actions in relation to numberless essences and within the expression of all of consciousness, there are many fluctuations that occur.
In this, you have created within your essence – as expressed by this particular focus of attention that you recognize as you – a strongly expressed desire to be associated with another focus of attention that you may objectively investigate and explore in relation to your focus of attention presently. This desire has been moving in increasing intensity within a time framework of your linear design in which you move and create your reality in association to your physical dimension.
Now; you are a focus of attention but you are also essence, and all other focuses of attention of essence are present within you. You merely FOCUS your attention in one direction to the objective exclusion of all others, for the most part. But just as I have expressed previously with other individuals, what creates the action of fragmentation is an expression of desire of a particular quality of essence.
Now; desire of a particular quality of essence may also generate other actions, not merely fragmentation. This is not an action in which a piece of essence removes itself from any particular essence to create a new essence in the action of fragmentation; it is an expressed desire of a quality of essence which, figuratively speaking, gives birth, in your terms, to a new expression which becomes the new essence. Be remembering, I am speaking figuratively. For once again, these are not absolutes, and in this I am offering a translation into your language and what you know and understand in relation to the design of your physical reality.
In this, you as a focus of attention are also a quality of essence and you express desires. These desires are not hidden from you, for they do, in a manner of speaking, show themselves or reflect objectively in different manners – inspirations, motivations, that which you objectively define as desires or wants. They may not appear objectively in a type of clarity in which you recognize the movement that you are creating, but you do hold a recognition and an understanding of your desires through what you present to yourself.
In this, you have been for a time framework consistently expressing a particular desire, and in this desire you also have been expressing that desire in alignment with your individual focus intent. In that, you have generated a movement of energy which, in a manner of speaking, has projected a beacon, so to speak, which other essences recognize.
Now; in response to your projection of energy in desire, the essence that, in your terms, focused attention in the manifestation of this individual which you recognize as a painter has been responsive to your expression of desire. In that responsiveness, you have created a mergence of essences. This is not the same action as an observing essence within a particular focus.
This action has created the fruition of the expressed desire, in which you have allowed yourself as essence to merge with certain qualities of another essence, and therefore have focused your attention in one particular specific direction which is the manifestation of this particular individual. Therefore you incorporate this focus, for you have allowed yourself a mergence with a particular quality of essence, and therefore offer yourself this focus also.
This is not a relinquishment of the other essence or acquiring of your essence of a particular focus, for consciousness does not move in this manner. You as focuses of attention are not pawns or objects that may be moved in relation to the will of essence as some entity that is greater than yourselves; and it is also not an action in which another essence may assume any focus of any other essence, for this type of action would be intrusive, and as I have expressed many times previously, there are no ‘walk-ins’ and no other essence assumes any focus of another essence, so this is not the action that has occurred. But what has translated in this time framework, within your objective recognition of time, is that you have allowed a mergence. Therefore, you ARE the other essence and the other essence is you.
MIKE: Hmm. So that focus was a mergence, then. It wasn’t just a singular essence.
MIKE: Do I know the other essence? I mean objectively now, as a focus?
ELIAS: In similar manner to the creation of some fragmentations, the fragmented essence is an expression born of mergences of certain qualities of combined essences. This focus is a creation of the mergence of essences.
MIKE: So at what point ... let me grasp for my thoughts. So if this is a mergence, there is not really one essence that’s expressing more overtly than the other because they’re both the same entity at that point.
ELIAS: Correct! You are correct. For that QUALITY which is being expressed in desire is, figuratively speaking, creating what may almost be identified as another entity in itself as it is a combination of different essences, which the combination in mergence does not distinguish the singularity of identity that you associate with individual essences.
MIKE: Now, you’re saying that this mergence created this focus. So that means that for the entirety of the focus of that individual, it was this entity that was created through the mergence?
ELIAS: Yes. This is not a shared focus. This is not an observing focus. It also is not an action of fragmentation. It is a merging or combining of more than one essence which generates a focus of attention.
MIKE: Does this add to my numbering of focuses?
ELIAS: In a manner of speaking, yes.
MIKE: So, what, now I have 732? (Elias chuckles) (4)
ELIAS: In a manner of speaking, yes! (Mike laughs) There are many, many movements and actions, my friend, that are continuously occurring within consciousness that all essences are participating within that create many different variables and variations of expression. And once again I may express to you, this is the reason that I continue to express to you all that there are no absolutes. For you lock yourselves into thought processes and beliefs that express to you quite frequently the solidity of absolutes, and this contributes to your confusion in objective understanding.
This also, Mikah (Michael), is an expression that I choose not to be offering tremendous volumes of information, concerning actions and movements of consciousness that may be viewed as outside of your physical dimension and reality. For you occupy your attentions in this physical reality, and you associate your understanding with the design of this physical reality.
Other movements of consciousness may be quite confusing within the translation of your objective associations and understanding, and also I may express to you, for the most part it matters not, for it is not necessarily relevant to what you create within your physical reality – not yet, for you have not completed, so to speak, the insertion of your shift in consciousness. Even within the insertion of your shift in consciousness, there are countless movements and actions of consciousness that may continue to be irrelevant to the design of your physical dimension.
MIKE: ... how many focuses, if counting these sorts, this action that we talked about today, how many focuses would I have in total including ones as a focus of Mikah (Michael) including a mergence?
ELIAS: I may express to you quite genuinely, there is no calculation for this type of action.
MIKE: Okay, all right. I’ll buy it.
ELIAS: These types of actions occur quite frequently, my friend, in many different manners and capacities, and therefore within consciousness I may not offer to you an actual count.
MIKE: Would you be willing to offer me the name, the tone, of the mergence that occurred with that focus?
ELIAS: The tone of the mergence – which is not another essence – very well: Michi (MIH shee).
MIKE: Mishi, M-I-S-H-I?

DON: “Recently you mentioned in a session that there can be a temporary mergence between essences.
ELIAS: Correct, and this is quite common.
DON: What does it mean to say that the mergence is temporary, given that this mergence occurs outside of the time of our physical dimension?
ELIAS: As opposed to an action of fragmentation.
DON: Ah, that’s what I thought. Do you have more to say about that or is that sufficient at this point?
ELIAS: The action of fragmentation is such that the essence that fragments incorporates qualities, experiences and tones of the essence that it has fragmented from and that becomes what you would term to be a permanent incorporation. Whereas, in mergence with another essence, the essences experience each other but do not necessarily incorporate each other’s qualities or incorporate all of the experiences. Are you understanding?
DON: I think so.
ELIAS: Let me also express to you, this is a limited explanation and one that may be viewed as figurative, not quite literal, for that would be a distortion. I am expressing to you an explanation in association with what you know and understand in relation to your physical dimension.
DON: I can feel a conceptualization...
DON: ...of it, but it’s difficult to put into words.
ELIAS: Correct, for within your objective awareness you may generate an understanding of what I am expressing in relation to nonphysical expressions and consciousness and essence, but that is not quite translatable accurately within your objective understanding or language.
DON: ... I mentioned I had two impressions of my own fragmentation, the fragmentation that gave rise to my essence. The other was that Ayla (5) and I had some fragmentation relationship. Is that a valid impression or a correct impression? (Pause)
ELIAS: In what capacity?
DON: Well, given that I did not fragment from Ayla, I wonder if I was involved in the fragmentation that gives rise to her essence.
ELIAS: No, but there has been many expressions of mergences.
DON: I get the sense that this is quite common. You’ve said that it’s quite common, this action of mergence.
DON: Yet it is something that we can objectively use the energy of if we allow it.
ELIAS: Correct. Generally speaking, individuals are objectively unaware of that action occurring, but this is not to say that it does not occur quite frequently.” [session 1297, March 19, 2003]
(1) Paul’s note: the clarity exercise is a tool that sharpens the physical senses by enhancing our ability to concentrate, observe, and focus in the present moment. While fine-tuning the five physical senses, its purpose is also to maintain the clarity of focus in altered states and projections of consciousness.

(2) Vic’s note: Elias often refers to the essence of Paul (Patel) as “my dear friend.” Paul (Patel) was introduced by Elias as an essence that had much relevant information to deliver, and would most likely, deliver it through Ron via “automatic writing.” Patel is the essence name and Paul is a focus of Patel’s that Ron connect’s with very strongly. Hence, we often use both names to describe this essence. Elias occasionally uses only the name Paul or Patel but they refer to the same essence. Ron began this energy exchange on June 10, 1996.
For the most part, Paul (Patel) delivers information that is similar to the information that Elias delivers. However, it seems to be of a more personal nature than the information offered by Elias. Most of the exchanges are either in response to specific questions asked, or are a complement to the concepts presented in the information offered by Elias.

(5) Paul’s note: Ayla is one of nine essences who facilitate the energy exchange between Mary Ennis and Elias. During the early sessions in Castaic, California, Elias created an educational game to help forum participants explore subtle energies in relation to impressions and essence families. So Ayla was associated with the energy of the Vold family of consciousness.
Vic’s note: referring to the essences that help support the energy exchange between Mary and Elias; Ayla represents yellow [Vold], Ordin represents purple [Zuli], Otha represents green [Ilda], Tomkin represents red [Milumet], Patel represents orange [Gramada], and Elias represents blue [Sumari]. These colors each represent an essence family in the educational game.
